"The Sound of Silence" was written by Paul Simon and was first recorded in 1964 by Simon & Garfunkel. It was a featured song in the 1967 film "The Graduate". This beautiful early intermediate harp arrangement is in the key of D minor, with B flat in the key signature. No lever changes are required. The score includes courtesy fingering and brackets, phrasing and practice sections. ♫ Sheet Music Direct www.sheetmusicdirect.com/en-US/se/ID_No/1606020/Product.aspx ♫ Sheet Music Plus www.sheetmusicplus.com/en/product/the-sound-of-silence-22842250.html "Hello darkness, my old friend I've come to talk with you again Because a vision softly creeping Left its seeds while I was sleeping And the vision that was planted in my brain Still remains Within the sound of silence"

Another beautiful arrangement! If you are wondering about Anne's arrangements, they fall very easily under the fingers and they make sense, even to those of us without a heavy music education.

Absolutely gorgeous interpretation of this classic song, what's interesting is that when Simon and Garfunkel released it in 1964, it was a commercial flop, a complete disaster it sold only a few hundred album copies at most. The duo disbanded and soon went back to their regular lives, it became in late 1965 an underground hit in Florida and Massachusetts. In 1966, it became a top hit song and the duo soon reunited and got to work right away on a second album. The lesson from this being to don't ever give up.

This is incredibly beautiful Anne … it is the spaces you leave for silence in this arrangement that makes it especially haunting ❤.
