THE SOUND OF STORY 2015
Showcasing critically acclaimed and innovative projects, The Sound of Story is aimed at filmmakers, sound practitioners, music producers and film lovers.
Through a series of talks and workshops, leading sound professionals discuss their work, influences and insights, offering a rare opportunity to learn about the power of the soundtrack, and the importance of designing projects with sound in mind from the start.
Chris Watson shares his experience as a composer and location wildlife sound recordist, discussing the technical elements of field sound recording and presenting his recordings of the rainforests near Iguazu Falls in Brazil and Brinicles (icicles forming under sea ice) in the Arctic and Antarctic. He concludes with a case study, presenting a piece of sound art, commissioned by the National Gallery, created in response to John Constable’s The Cornfield.

Totalling captivating and inspiring. It's fantastic to see someone so focused and with such attention to detail. I wonder if there should have been a Corncrake in Constable's corn field?

This guy was where it all started for me: I discovered Cabaret Voltaire in high school back in 2002. I’ve been obsessed with synthesis and sound since then and all because this guy’s early work with that group
