Amazing, you were a lot faster than me even though you had some hike-a-bike and I didn't, even Butser which I have a photo of me riding up on the way home ,taken by Rory Hitchens. I lost the will to live at Cocking and I think the return journey took about 15 hours . It is also crucial to minimize the night riding ,which you got right. (I made a huge mistake starting at 9 pm!) Wondering whether to attempt it again , now I'm nearly 70

Fantastic effort. Some of the hardest fought kilometres around on that route, the double is a massive achievement!

Nice going Josh Anyone know if the little cafe has reopened at the Eastbourne end .... I know it was late in the day while you was there ! Some good bivy spots just below Beachy Head ....

How has it taken me this long to stumble upon your channel??? Local to me it seems from your videos, and both love bikepacking, and just love bikes. New subscriber here 🙋🏻♂️

Excellent achievement. Must be great to feel inexorable on that length of an outing. Well done, not least on all the work it took to get where you are.

We just did one way in 3 days. I literally can't understand how you'd do double in one. Utterly impressive

Your cycling ethos seems to be a bit masochistic?😮 Why not do it over a few days and take in the scenery and stop and look at things?😊

Great video and cool channel… new and subbed. I am not far from all these trails .. running a 100km in June and lots on SDW so thought about gravel biking it … what pressure did you run on your tires ?

Utter madness, I don’t know how you do it and all on one pasty and a little bit of chocolate. Looks great route and no cows 👍
@KeepSmilingAdventures2 жыл бұрын
funny you should mention cows, after the sun had set i went through a field and had to wake up a bunch of cows to get to the gate. The maddest thing was that when i went through that field in the other direction i swear they were little ponies 😂

I discovered your channel about 2 weeks ago and I have to say this is now one of my favourite channels on KZbin. Your videos are incredibly well put together and I respect your grit and determination shown in these videos. Keep doing what you're doing as these videos have inspired me to get back on my bike and get out there into the wild. Keep smiling !

Brilliant ride. You’re attitude to getting the job done is remarkable. Watching whilst recovering from yet another off! I may do a channel with routes to various A and E departments.

Awesome ride. Thanks for sharing. Seeing you hike a bike some hills makes it real. Just discovered your channel and never really thought of the UK and gravel routes together. The beauty of the internet is seeing the world by bike.👍

I am amazed at the stamina. But I do think your height helps just a little ;) Just completed a three day event in Western Cape. First day was 1673 elevation and I thought I was a super hero. I cannot imagine 7000m. Oh my word well done!

helps on the hike a bike sections i guess, half a mile each step 😂

Respect dude! The longest off and on road distance on my gravel bike was also 200, not miles i'm afraid but kilometers. And it took me like 11 or 12 hours.
@chrisoliver66902 жыл бұрын
I once did 200, meters not kilometers, it was a real struggle 😂

Keep failing until you succeed, great mantra. Are you ou pleased with the 42 tyres? Which ones did you go for?
@KeepSmilingAdventures2 жыл бұрын
These are the 50mm maxis ramblers. And have been very happy with them. When i said 42 on the back i was referring to my gears aha 42/42 i could have done with a couple more gears tbh though

Nice one. Looking forward to ride report. Was the gravel bike the better choice? What tyres did you go for?
@KeepSmilingAdventures2 жыл бұрын
hard to say really, ultimately id have a lightweight xc bike, for this route. i'm using the maxis ramblers 50mm so plenty big enough, just gets a bit harsh on some of the descents on the gravel bike.
@christopherrichards3872 жыл бұрын
@@KeepSmilingAdventures Cheers, looked like 700c? Definitely worth going for the biggest tyres you can on SDW.
