My older brother and me were born there in 1975 & 78. The doctor that gave birth to us was Curlee Ross, M.D. We still have a picture of the doctor and the hospital outside.

I live in South L.A. and have been by Hoover Hospital more times than I can count, as recently as a week ago.

Amazing video. I was born there in 1978 and Dr. Pilson is the doctor listed on my birth certificate.

That’s so cool! I just posted this video on TikTok, and there were a flood of people who also shared they were born there. It’s so cool to see this shared community and identity across so many people. Did you ever go back as a kid?

I was born there in October of 1966. I always thought the hospital had been demolished. I'm sure I've passed by there and never realized that was it. I wish there were photos available of it's heyday.

This was a really great video on some random building that looks like so many along that stretch. Creates a bit of a sense of longing and loss. Incidentally, streetviewing the area. the building kitty corner looks it's had some interesting recent history at least.

I just took a look on Google Maps. I vaguely remember those silhouettes on that building over a decade ago. That’s something else. But you’re right about the buildings. Structures along this stretch of Hoover look like they have no purpose outside of blight, but just going back 30 or 40 years depicts a use that is almost unreal in today’s world.

Thanks for making this interesting video. I wonder if those parents ever would’ve been willing to take a DNA test because maybe the baby was replaced?
@SouthLARecap Жыл бұрын
Funny enough, in one newspaper article, the judges ordered the doctors to compare the footprints of the baby in their possession compared to the ones taken at birth. But the original foot prints were two blurred and weren’t able to confirm the baby. Luckily a settlement did just fine for the Hardwigs….😂😂😂

I have original pictures of the doctor that delivered me in 1972 holding me in his arms and standing outside. Black & White picture of Hoover Hospital East Los Angeles ❤❤❤❤❤.
