Hi there! Lovely to see what is on front of me. I will start walking on Tuesday from Minehead to Barnstaple for 5 lovely days. Last year I done from St. Ives to Penzance in 3 days, but have to say-this first section looks much easier. I'm planning do every year section after section to complete whole trail. Tomorrow pack up and Monday morning drive from Kent. Thanks and greetings. Tom

Good luck with your hike. North Devon was a great section. Hope the weather is good for you.

I enjoyed that. You had much better weather than I had on that leg. Looking forward to catching up with your others. All the best.

Now I’m def taking that as a compliment as I watched your videos in the build up to doing it and really enjoyed them. Unfortunately the weather was too good. I had to leave the trail a week earlier than planned at Penzance due to the record temperatures. Its a tough trail to walk in the heat with little or no cover for shade and st ives onwards is a demanding stretch. Looking forward to the rest of your videos Paul.

Ah thanks. Glad you enjoyed them. Penzance is as far as I have got. I agree St Ives onwards is quite tough, in a different way from Hartland to Bude though.

I remember one afternoon struggling to find a campsite and quickly checked one of your vids to find out where you camped that night. Lol. Think that might have been Treen campsite. Who knows maybe we will bump into each other next year on trail. Enjoy the rest of your hike Paul.

Cheers Ross. Plenty more to come as I’ve been back on the trail now for 6 days with the camping gear.

So I do the south down way on the borders of Scotland if you want to a coast to coast path or the Pennines way. On up to Scotland capital. If you want good trail the coast to coast in Cumbria dose take in 3 national parks but it full of USA citizens this year you find that Scott coast to coast far better and easier to wild camping and the local so nice. With no more than 5 people a day to see. The uk coast to coast is jammed with walkers now so popular like the lakes area I live in for 7 years I go to Scotland for peace and easy camping have look at western border areas it the lakes with out the people as wainwright saw it

That old church at Culbone is beautiful; I visited it at dusk in midsummer so it's nice to see it in daylight; it was all darkness when i was in there and very atmospheric though i could barely see a thing.

That's a valley there at Lynmouth, to me a combe is like usually a shorter valley with a narrow start and wider bottom... I dunno the exact difference but the Lyn is a valley cos it is long and winding and has little combes going into it. Not many people even use the word now.

It’s a really lovely area. I’m already thinking of when I can go back and do some of that part of north Devon again.

Walked that bit into Lynmouth yesterday. See what you mean about the exposed bit. I walk with my 8 year old son so we gave it a miss and walked over the top past the radio mast instead.

Looking back, I think that’s one of my favourite days walking on the trail so far.

Starting my 2nd round of watching your SWCP videos. Unfortunately I can't "like" the video again as it just switches the Like from my first round off !😁You were lucky with the weather for most of the trail weren't you.

I had amazing luck with the weather. I usually let the weather decide where I hike and it was fantastic every week I booked off work so I kept at the swcp. The only time it wasn’t great was this May so I did ridgeway instead.

@@an9636 I should tell my dad (a farmer), "Andy's gone for a walk. Get your grass cut. You'll make some good hay this week" 😁
