I got a SP-505 for $125 about two months ago because I found out about the lofi effect. I wanted to get a Ensoniq sampler but the ones I was chasing down would get sold by the time I got a message back. I'm glad I found the SP-505. Between the low sampling rate and lofi effect it gets a great vintage sound.

Haha! I think I just read a post you commented on in reddit from about a year ago. I'm absolutely positive that was you 😂😂😂 The 505 definitely has it's own unique lofi sound. Great little sampler 👍🏻 kinda feels like pulling teeth waiting for all the initializing in this day and age, but it's fun to go back to some times.

You can resample thru external source with these too, just like the 303 & 404MK2. Super overlooked feature. So overlooked it didnt make it into the 404 (OG) or 404sx 😂😂. Dope video G, you bringing back memories

SP 505 Effects are dope. The Filter + Drive and the Phaser are pretty good. Had one and sold it but would buy another one if possible.

the SP-505 is just the SP-303 on steroids: buff, more powerful and immobile. joke aside, i love it as well, mainly use it for the FX since i got the 2kxl and the 404A. a really fun, powerful machine for it's time and budget. dope beats as well bro 🔥🔥🔥

Always wanted the 505 I had the sp 303 back in the day now I'm using the novation circuit rhythm as my main sampler as I find it really fun to use only thing is it's mono sound and monophonic sequencing I'm thinking of getting the sp 404 MK2 But iv heard the workflow takes a while to get used to the MPC ones always an option to

How’s it with pitch/time stretch? The 202 has a beautiful pitch effect

No pitch shifting or time stretching you have to go to mpc, st-224, sp-1200, 202, or 404mkii to name a few for that. 505 offers fx only.

@@Brother_TD to be honest my pioneer dvd video turntable is the funnest. The KP3+ can do pitch shift as well with samples. Its nice. I mainly use my mpc1.

When sampling with the lo-fi grade (sample rate) can you pitch down the sound to get that crunchy aliasing sound like on the SP 202?

With an extra sampler, but not on the 505 by it's self.

O.K., I see. So the pitch is more like a time stretch thing... On the SP 202 pitching down in lofi-mode sounds really good. I also bought the Zoom Sampletrak 224 and was really disappointed about the lofi sample rate. Although it has nearly the same sample rate in lofi like the SP202 (8khz} it doesn't sound as good as the SP202. Do you know if the lofi processor effect on the SP505 is only an effect or does it really change the sample rate. Can you check the file size of a sample? Nontheless, your demonstration is really good! Greetings from Germany...

The 505 isn't slept on it's disliked because of the workflow The SP's aren't just about their sound it the way you can get at the functions and the one thing that the 505 really lost was that workflow and creative vibe.

Sorry but you should have kept the zoom sample at 45 rpm and you would see how much lofi you would get

I prefer the 505 flavor, but I have to combine it with the 404mk2 or mpc1 for pitch shifting capabilities. I couldn't get used to the zoom ST-224 workflow, but its an Awesome machine if you put a lot of time & effort in to learn it.

How the pitching on the 505 with rpm of 45 or 78 and pitching down
