How cool is it working with Steve? I don't know why, but this episode specifically really inspired me to get into teaching. I love how excited the kids are to be interacting and getting their hands on things instead of sitting behind a desk listening to someone talk. I love your videos and what you guys do to get kids to learn and enjoy science. Thank you guys for being awesome!

Hey Steve! I wanted to ask you if rubbing alcohol can take off pen marks on a t-shirt because I was tracing something and I want to try taking the marks off but i painted my t-shirt with fabric paint and i was worried the fabric paint might smudge, too. Do you think it will smudge or just the pen marks will go away?

Hypothesizing how different colors react with each other is not chem? Do you know the know the basic rules for the products of a chemical reaction? 1: Presence of change in color. The results from tie dye are visible representations ("showy") of a chemical reaction between various colors. I guess there aren't patterns in chem - 'forget the periodic table' - because they only apply to math. The "burst" effect looks very similar to a fractal (chem with math). Spatial", not "spacial".

Tie dye is fun. Science is fun, but why focus on the outcome of the pattern? I fail to see how hypothesizing that is in anyway connected with science. Yes, there is a lot of cool chemistry but you're not having the kids test chemicals, you're having them guess patterns. If you want to improve a child's spacial reasoning there are more efficient ways of doing it (like origami). Maybe this would be better for a math class but this is another activity that seems more "showy" than practical.
