Dear Rabbi, Thank you! for this wonderful series.. You blow me away, with your absolutely brilliant APA.. The way you reference the "Text" is a skill like no other. Throughout life this has always been my weakness.. I read, I hear, I watch and sometimes just can't prove my thoughts! You were questioning the use of more than one Menorah. I have two Menorahs and only light one at a time. It would seem my traditional Menorah, has an element of magic for the lack of better term. I usually light the Menorah I purchased as remembrance of a visit to the Royal Ontario Museum when I went to view the Dead Sea Scrolls. The Dead Sea Scrolls have taken me on a "journey" like no other. The Path of Faith is in deed Miraculous. When purchasing Menorahs for Chanukah, you have to listen to the "voice inside" and the sales people, the sales people are usually pretty knowledgeable. Years ago, I said a little Prayer before I acquired my first, also traditional Menorah, Truly the Blessings of Lord, Our God. I add a candle to my traditional Menorah every night for eight and on the eighth night I light the traditional Menorah and forego the Dead Sea Scrolls Menorah. I have learned about many Jewish Holidays and traditions from Chabad.org, this is how I found you, Rabbi Mendel Kaplan, I was delighted to discover you are Rabbi of Chabad Flamingo in Thornhill north of Toronto. I spent many years living in Orthodox Jewish Thornhill and Richmond Hill, so I knew a little bit of the Chabadian Culture. I credit much of my knowledge of Jewish Culture to my Mom. She always made sure I "was in the know". My mom brought me into the Jewish Culture through all her wonderful, very good circle of friends. The Jews of Toronto, I believe they are called Reformers as they don't know too much about Chabad & Orthodox customs.
