Thank you! Been a big fan of the FEC for years. Very generally, those guys don't waste time and are usually bustin a hump on their routes.

FEC is one of a very few Railroads that uses LNG to power their locomotives, you can see the storage tank nestled between the two locomotives. In addition, FEC has the fastest service between Miami and Jacksonville. FEC owns the 351 mile track between the two cities and is the exclusive provider for the Port Miami, Port Everglades (Fort Lauderdale), and Port of Palm Beach.

Hi, just found your channel. Love the angle at 7:40. If only you could shoot more at that angle and distance. Sometimes seems like your tripod is too close and has too much off track scenery clutter to appreciate the train itself.

Can someone tell me why they keep that 2nd car between the locomotives?
@RC.EST163 ай бұрын
@@iamCrwly yes. That car is a “LNG tank” LNG stands for liquefied natural gas. It’s an alternative for using all standard diesel. Florida East Coast uses that car which connects to the locomotives, to supply that LNG. This practice is safer for the environment!

I am planning on coming down to Florida after christmas i am trying ti figure out where to railfan i have been lately watching vidoes on the FEC line i was wondering if its worth it to railfan the FEC and brlightline tracks in the morning or afternoon?
@RC.EST164 ай бұрын
@@SCL6054Prouctions the best times for freight action depend on were you are in Florida. Mostly it’s heavy action in the morning and evening with a afternoon train as well. For bright line I would just find the nearest station on google and it shows the arrival times for trains. You can sorta estimate when you’d see one

@RC.EST164 ай бұрын
@@SCL6054Prouctions if you do go to coco, you can see some action pretty early morning around 5-6 am. You’d see 202 and 204. 204 will have EMD leaders. Then you should see a local train as well. 105 leaves Jacksonville at 1 so you’d probably see him around 3. Then 107 leaves Jacksonville around 5-7. You’d also see 206 around 4-6 pm
