I was a big fan of the Korean Fire Noodle (The black packaging, also comes in red which is x2) Probably the spiciest thing i've ever eaten, but I now eat it like an everyday snack because of the flavour. Glad to see this one tastes good, aswell. It's super easy to bypass the spice levels if the flavour levels are there. I hate things that are just pure spice -- Not an enjoyable experience.

Best way to make ramen in my opinion is to cook the ramen noodles first before you add the spice pack, wait until the noodles are done, then pour out almost all the water keeping just a little bit, then add the spice seasoning pack and mix it around until the water you kept thickens up, now you have a nice thick sauce that will coat all the noodles :)

For my American friends, Tabasco sauce is about 4000 scoville units which isn't very spicy, so 14K is a little over 3x more spicy and still not crazy. Most people who are used to eating spicy food, such as sichuan or hunan style chinese food, korean, or korean would still find it spicy, but still in an enjoyable way.
@D71219ONE2 жыл бұрын
14,444 scovilles has to be wrong. I grow Carolina Reapers, and they are about 2.5 million. I have hot sauce that is 4 million (messes your stomach up for a day, at least). 14,444 is nothing. I also can’t imagine it’s 14 million. That would probably cause you to miss a week of work, and you’d have to sleep on a toilet.
@molotov-zz6rm6 ай бұрын
maybe its a different measurement also i believe the number 4 symbolizes death and bad luck in asia. similar to 13 or 666 i guess
@TylerBloom-q3n5 ай бұрын
Yes Asia has a different measurement for spicy food. 14,444 in Asia equal 1.4 million in the US so it probably reduced from 2.5 because of the ramen. Is what I am guessing. Because I don't know the exact conversion.
@ryo-kai85875 ай бұрын
@@molotov-zz6rm 4 is associated with death in Japan because the word for death and one of the words for 4 are both pronounced "shi". Regarding the spice, 14,444 might not be wrong, because it's an entire dish with a significant amount of volume. Most things we measure on the Scoville scale are either peppers or sauces, of which you're expected to eat a very small amount. Think about it; a full teaspoon of very spicy hot sauce is INTENSE, and this ramen consists of many, many times more than a teaspoon, so of course it's less concentrated.

i do agree totally to that. it is felt more hotter than that measurement. tabasco is up to 4- or 5000 shu, if the pure taste of tabasco isn´t so ugly, i could drink the bottles. i would say the level of the noodles are like the samyang 3 times buldak spicy units. i give them an fresh 250 000 to 300 000 shu if its boiled fresh...without to much water. that hot burning in the mouth is as fast away as it starts... my hottest experience was the capsaicin sauce called "the source" with 7.1 million shu dosed in 7 little drops on a pizza.... after a timeless burning tongue and mouth, you´ll feel a big painfully really hurting comprimized spot in your stomach. greetings from germany

Inspired by your vid, I tried to find this soup, ended up with the 2x spicy chicken so added 1 tsp of ground Carolina reaper powder to it to kick it up. That was mad gruelling to eat, same thing noodles were doable but the broth was lava. I did it but it extracted a terrible toll. No escaping that heat coming off the broth, it just spreads that heat to every part of the mouth. The 2x by itself is mild in compare. 1tsp of reaper powder was just stupid lol.

In my experience the soup isn’t usually as hot as the noodles for some reason. Also adding an egg to help soak up some of the heat is helpful.

Same here, but for stir fried buldak noodles I add two sunny side up eggs and sometimes the yolks are kinda runny😅

You're crazy, Ben! 🤣 I do love spicy foods, but too much spiciness just kills off the taste buds for me. I do want to try it though 😋

I used to eat mamee daebak ghost pepper like 3 times in a week since 2018 and by 2020 I had a severe gastric pain, ulser and gerd. Plus now I got gallstone just to make it worse. As the doc said, you can eat spicy food but be tolerant on your body😭
@chanbann2 жыл бұрын
@@maiastraa that’s was mainly caused by the noodles?? Or other factors as well?😳

Chilli itself doesn't cause health issues unless you already have existing health issues or consume something silly in large quantities like extract or super hots, It's a common misconception. Instant noodles are not good for you

1:48 Im real curious.. TAKES A SNIFF.. Oh hell yeah!! LOL I had some of the ghost reaper ramen where the noodles were black and that was def the hottest noodles I ever had. I had to let the spit out my mouth drip on a napkin because it was making it worse. I like really hot stuff but it was just painful. This seems even more intense 🥵🔥🔥

Personally I love the samyan fire noodles. However I never make them brothy. I stain the noodles and simply add the packet. Mmmm so good! I also add cheese and left over meat and a poached egg.

I like carolina reaper as powder/extract but tried the fresh pod uncooked and yeah it was unforgiving to the bitter end. The soup looks good, a definite yes for me. Good job tearing it down.
