Tyler, your videos have truly transformed my approach to bass fishing, taking my productivity to a whole new level. As a Montana boy who grew up with a fly rod in hand, I didn’t start this bass journey until last March, but your guidance has been a game-changer. I’m nearly through all your videos, and each one has been a source of knowledge and motivation. Thank you for sharing your passion, and for the impact you’re making. God bless you for inspiring so many of us to become better at what we love.

Living in South Africa in my home province we do a LOT of bass fishing. Mainly spotted and largemouth bass on privatefarm dams i have access to as a high school teacher( i teach a lot of the farmers' children). I noticed you mention you grew up with a fly rod in your hand. My best friend fishes a lot with me and often when the fishing is tough he takes out his fly rod and start catching more than i do. Tight lines and let that personal best hit 10 pounds ...

@@vernervanschalkwyk2280 I absolutely love fly-fishing. Far more action in the rod because they're about two feet longer than a 7' rod.

The spinner bait is my tried and true. It’s my confidence, my go to, and my always in the box lure. The chatter bait (XPS bomb version) I ended up picking up due to BPS rearranging the spinner bait section and string kings were out of stock. I’ve been using it more ways than a spinner bait. I’ve been chucking out the spinner bait and retrieving it back, sometimes I’ll flip stumps with one, and even work weed lines or drop offs. The chatter bait I’ve been skipping docks, using more when there’s a ledge not a gradual slope, working weed lines, pads, creek channels, and pitching into pockets on the banks. Colors- white. 90% of the time I use white. 5% of the time I use green pumpkin (chartreuse/white for spinnerbaits) and 5% black and blue. Trailers- 95% of the time I use swim baits. Rage swimmers. On the back of the green pumpkin chatter bait I’ll use a bug of some sort sometimes. Long story short- now I throw both and let the fish tell me what they want. Keep it up brotha 🤙🏼

Hey Tyler, great video. The picture of the “chatterbait” at around 5:15 is the teckel blade Walker and believe it or not. It’s actually a topwater. And don’t tell anyone but around grass edges and skipping overhanging trees. It KILLS. Especially around pressured fish. Have a good evening Tyler!

Great video. Thanks for sharing your faith too. I'm almost 50, and have recently come to Christ. Just a few short years ago, I cringed when you talked about Jesus in your videos. Now, it warms my heart to hear that message. I'm forever grateful that the Holy Spirit opened my heart so I could receive a message I had scoffed at so many times in the past.

In my area in Northwest Missouri, it seems like vibrating jigs dominate in spring and fall when water Temps are between 50 and 65, and spinnerbaits take the lead the rest of the year. Of course, there are definitely exceptions, but that's the general trend I see

Chatterbait EVO (jackhammer is great but shallow water ponds with moss I like the extra rise out of the EVO) and Megabass SV-3 both in 3/8oz are my faves. I’ve found that they will hit a spinnerbait at certain times where they won’t hit a chatterbait. Chatterbaits are my favorite lure by far though! 🎣🎣

If your confused about Z-man chatterbaits, go with these 4: -mini max in 3/8 oz bluegill -mini max in 3/8 oz black blue -Jackhammer in 1/2 oz Brett’s bluegill -Jackhammer in 1/2 oz black blue These 4 will give you the best range of color and depth for covering water, hope this helps

What color trailer was used? Would you say that a chatter bait could work in saltwater as well, I live up north but occasionally fish in Florida in salt water so should I still go with black and blue thunder cricket?

If you could be perfectly honest, no strike king marketing baloney or anything like that, would you say you would prefer to use Z-man mini max and jackhammer over the thunder cricket? Or is the thunder cricket your go-to even if you could use a mini max and jackhammer? I just wanna know.

@ritzboys2 ай бұрын
I feel like to get a better data analyses you both should try to match colors the best you can. That way its the lure doing the work and not the color scheme. We all know fish prefer different colors all the time lol
@NineteenEighty82 ай бұрын
Neither are better. I like to use chatterbaits to draw fish out then use a swimjig to hook it. I love using spinnerbaits also during the fall, make long cast and reel it in along banks. Both are great lures and can be utilized greatly in the fall. Just go slower and use trailers with less action. I like to trim down a zoom flukes or use a yoto worm.
@CumminsMichael2 ай бұрын
I’d argue the chatterbait puts off more “noise” in windy conditions and is easier for those smallies to track. Those bass are pinning the chatterbait to the floor. Bass are less willing to chase a spinnerbait higher in the water column as the return (50% chance of success) on the investment (calories burned) is not as good. If your buddy could punch that spinnerbait into or perpendicular to the wind and let it fall to the floor before starting the retrieval, I’m certain he would have had more success.
