But in the whole scheme of things, he's not the one who actually pulls the strings and got the real power to enact real systemic changes in this capitalistic society ruling our world sucking us and our earth resources dry to the point of no return. He just makes entertaining movies and explores the sea. He's not part of that circle among the greedy Jeff Bezos, Rupert Murdoch and those ilks who are the ones who are the real takers and pull the strings of politicians who are impotent to enact the systemic reforms we need to reverse course. Mr. Cameron: As a youngster in the 1960s and 1970s (born 1956) I spent hours and hours alone in the forest next to my home in central Pennsylvania. By middle-age, I grew to resent my isolation in a vast agricultural Wasteland, but after listening to you talk about the same thing I've come to realize that that was probably one of the best things that could have happened to me. I am an atheist, not a spiritual person at all, but there was something mystical about the forest that nourished me all my life.

Wow Marianne, this is Dr. Cliff Morris and met in DC at your fundraiser for your Presidential campaign. I just saw the latest Avatar movie last week and BOY does this interview draw out some of the most significant spiritual truths regarding our humanity! COVID truly was the wisdom of nature at its best, doing what nature does best: increase and reduce at just the right time for the betterment of society as a whole. This interview was a rare gem, and I’ve forwarded it to others who “SEE ME” who “SEE YOU” but more importantly, who “SEE HUMANITY” despite all of our downfalls. I’m doing my part as best as I can because the wisdom of The Tao tells me that my life truly makes a difference. So I’m not wasting one second. Consider a second run I hope? I’ll back you until the end as I did the first run! “I SEE YOU!”

Your conversation here is the same one I'd imagine having with Jim if I could get past being star struck and tongue tied if given the opportunity to talk to him for even one minute, much less an hour. He's a one of a kind auteur, able to tell simple human stories with incredible scope and technical detail. Thank you for the in-depth perspective you’ve brought to this film, and to the possibility of being human. I also greatly appreciate the manner in which you repeatedly look to integrate a so called spiritual perspective with the practical grounded way of being in the world. Your statement suggesting that it is “naive to think we will last an other hundred years if we don’t at least try” to include love and empathy in our way of being on this planet. I wonder if some day a person with the perspective you articulate, will ever stand at the head of a nation in this brave new world. Or if we are indeed doomed to follow the current course dictated by and serving the interests of the corporate empire. Who will be able to come ‘from above’ and save the day. Must we follow in the footsteps of purported prior ‘advanced civilisations’ that somehow came to a point of extinction.

Back when AVATAR was released, there were news articles depicting a large number of people feeling depression and suicidal after watching the movie. As someone who felt this depression after seeing the movie for the first time in cinemas, I can tell you that the depression does not stem from the want to be on Pandora, the depression stems from the fact that this Earth IS Pandora. The depression settles in as more realizations begin to occur. Humanity is allowing itself to become a disease to the planet, all for the sake of material gain. In any movie review of James Cameron’s AVATAR, we are mostly told it is praised for it’s CGI and not for it’s story. Which for the most part, lacked originality. Comparisons are made to previous stories. Stories such as Ferngully, Pocahontas, and Dances with Wolves. Yet, what astounds me is that while people compare AVATAR to these films, they do not compare it to the events and situations that these films are focused on. Events and situations that are still ongoing to this day. AVATAR uses symbolism and imagery to portray the atrocities committed by the Corporatocracy. And, how our ignorance not only allows these atrocities to occur - but, also has halted our evolution. AVATAR is not only a social commentary on the Extortion of Natural Resources, Exploitation of Indigenous Peoples, or Aboriginal Genocide. It is a simulation of what life can be.. I have created an in depth analysis of this movie. Every claim in the analysis can be researched by anyone and a clear consensus can be reached. The film not only shows that the planet we are from is the mother of all life, it shows an alternative form of humanity. The Na'Vi are representative of Neohumanism*, the next stage in our evolutionary path. The humans depicted in the film are clearly shown to be from the Western world. Working for Corporations that seek to maximize profits regardless of social or environmental loss. So, what we have here is a film depicting two possible forms of humanity, the old paradigm vs the new paradigm, I hope this video shows you a new perspective on life or affirms your perspective. Enjoy.

Regardless of the moral compass those people have, they, and every human is living with trauma within our cells- we have healing to do. We all have to responsible to find truth and heal. I would like to being a topic to the table for both Jim and Marianne . Avatar's story "holds up a powerful mirror" and asks us all to internally "reflect" upon the roots and ethics actions of our people and there demonstrated historical actions in recognition of the layers touched upon under the surface within the film. Questions as to why our people (in the big picture) and our representative leadership circles "fail to "see" and act upon these issues or just sweep them under the carpet.. rather it be a failure to recognize the grave environmental injustices carried out under the name of greed and profit as well as our leaderships epic issues of selective "blindness", our struggle in these times to address the deeper systemic issues that mirror Story's like this bring to the surface are why we are here and I feel its a deeply important subject , The question what impacts our peoples ability to "see" each other and how different cultures have internal structures within there society's to address the issues of what our people deal with along the lines of human tribalism , and religious Tribalism ,, (The Haudenosaunee and there own internal experiences with there own time of great sorrow and there ability to internally address these issues are a very moving examples of this) , I hope we can all learn a lot from them. .. The foundations stones of the great law of peace as prime examples here as well ) I am going to throw the name of person Hidden within roots our our own history that "seeded" a perception chain reaction within our institutions (including some branches of institutionalized religion) His Name is "Gomes Eanes de Zurara Hired by a King in Portugal as a chronicler to seed a new perception into there society upon Blackness and Whiteness , like a dark seed his works deeply impact a huge chain of European "institutions " along the chain as he seeded in a new perception's on Race and Color , I hope everyone will take a look at his historical impact.. In thanks and recognition of all the comments that are shared on the dialog that has been enabled by Venues like this .. In early 2010 I went to see this film , I never expected the internal experience I would go through in the years after with "reflection" upon layers of the symbology within its story's roots interrelated to "real" world history both past and present. It deeply impacted my life and I am humbly sure it drew refection from many others, but this experience brought some underlying questions to the surface I had never internally grappled with before ..I Will start with the issue of the repression of expression of the expression of ones inner voice of empathy that impacts my own people,, as a person "labeled" within the European institutions of thought as one with Asperger's I have often wondered why since childhood what was behind the roots of that repression , I dug into our cultures roots and found internal influences within a number of our key institutions of thought burred under the surface and hidden within history that profound impact how we "see" others ,, for example "The "Lie" that seeded our peoples perception of racism kzbin.info/www/bejne/pXq9daenjL1pfM0 how this was chained down to impact "some" branches of the church institutions that have had a profound impact upon our cultures internal "trust" of this inner "voice" when our ancestors who arrived on our shores had to deal with examples like this, there are a number of others as well..I asked the question how would this impact our trust in our inner voice ? and the deep warnings it shares when walk off our ethical path ? what would this do ? kzbin.info/www/bejne/lYO0mXyoa9l-r7M .. I deeply relate to what James Cameron voiced in his concerns upon this subject and in his feelings of how indigenous peoples hold a deep recognition to the value of its " essence expression in the importance of weaving together there community's and structures of expression withion there body politics and why matriarchal leadership within those circles is so vitally important .. There is a lot of hidden history that deeply impacts European world view "systemically"... one of the deepest challenges comes from what is called "The Doctrine Of Discovery" but in truth it should really should be called the Doctrine of Domi"nation". when you question most of our people what is it ? 90 % of us don't have a clue , I would rather let indigenous leaders speak upon this subject but these layers deeply impact the foundation stones of many nations and these perception roots internally impact our ability to "see" each other and our sense of place in the world as well as our recognition of all its relations.. "We the people" speaker Mark Charles kzbin.info/www/bejne/foDOpaSPatyMaqM , a number of recent films like Frozen 2 that in recognition was made with help of the Sa'mi people ,, Have also made an effort to shed light on this subject of the repressed empathy "voice" "into the unknown" reflective example.. kzbin.info/www/bejne/nXqyqnVvj72hbtU . Why filmakers and storytellers are now diving into these layers is just as important. Thank you all for enabling this conversation .

There is a story where 2 guys are hiking when they encounter a bear!.. Guy #1 drops his pack and pulls out his tennis shoes... Guy #2 yells- You can't out run the bear!.. Guy #1 cleverly snaps back- Nope! but I'm gonna to out run you~~~

I SEE you Marianne. The evolution is at work, and it is going to take patience’s and kindness like we have never seen. I am a heart doctor. There is indeed that spot in everyone’s heart (even Donald Trump) that is on its journey back home to the One! One person and one heart at a time. Keep your light on. We will all continue to find our way.

Great conversation... and yeah, as an American, it's tough. I think mainly because we're the main target for capitalistic greed, being the largest developed nation in terms of gdp. The mistrust in science though, isn't that shocking. I remember being in middle school, when we learned Pluto was no longer a planet. While that might seem trivial, you have to understand science was presented as absolute truth to us... and then you find out it's wrong. It's easy to say the method is correct, but how do you justify the tests and textbooks we had drilled into us. I can watch endless videos about how numerous core concepts are now factually incorrect, and I'm just supposed to accept that... but how do I know in 20 years it will still be correct? We were told that there was always speculation around Pluto, but it was never presented that way. Add to that the countless "studies" that have been done, from Sugar to Teflon, Fat to miracle medications and agriculture.... that were sold to the American public as fact. Add in the countless racist, sexist studies conducted to exploit and oppress minority groups... and then have all these "experts" who can only speak in either Hypothetical, or Dire... and yeah... why on earth would anyone trust science? Bring back the experts who could redpectfully convey information to the masses, with actual certainty and self-confidence... and of course, remove the politicians and corporations, and catch-phrase jargon... and people will trust science again. I'm not saying this as someone who distrusts science. I genuinely believe it... but I also completely understand how someone whose family member was killed by a variant of Lyme Disease that isn't recognized by the CDC or other leading national organizations, yet still acknowledged to exist... but brushed off as if it's nothing... would distrust science. Or the communities who were actually experimented on... and to belittle them and dismiss them... it's awful. Just because science is right, doesn't mean we can dismiss peoples experiences. It's like when a child skins their knee... do you get a scientific lecture about what happened? No, mom gives you a hug and a cookie, and values your emotional experience. As for why we used to be united... religion. Specifically Christianity. Nothing special about it... it could have been any religious, spiritual connection. The point is that society ripped religion out of our lives. I'm not saying the reasons weren't justified... it's just that there wasn't a plan for what to do after these "traditional" values and norms (the literal foundation and guiding light for American society) got ripped out from under us, by our own doing... nothing to replace it with... except politics, corporations... and their manipulative greed. Add to that social media getting weaponized to exploit us for every possible reason... and you get the dumpster fire we're in. Obama did it. Trump did it... and there isn't a corporation or politician that's any better... it's raw unchecked power, and this train isn't stopping until it crashes.... and people seem to think pointing and laughing will somehow help. We has 17 Republicans running in 2014... and 23 Democrats in 2023... and the best either side could muster was two 75 year old geezers, and more inn fighting than a dozen siblings. If you'd like a research project, the last time something happened on this scale, was the Yellow Press Scandal, in the late 1800's, which resulted in the Pulitzer Prize foundation being created... and the Trust Busting that Teddy Roosevelt did as President. Those are the 2 things that need to happen. We need pure humility right now... and I've yet to see a politician who wouldn't treat it like a sore-winner... which means the crazy-train keeps rolling. Great video. Stay strong. We will get through this. I've met people of every political affiliation in this country, and I can tell you I have hope. We just have to get rid of the corruption and special-interest exploitation. Stay strong my friends!

I'm a huge fan of James and thanks for this wonderful interview. He mentioned at his early age, he was much more as a capitalist, more a competing person. I'm really curious about what would James suggests for nowadays aspiring filmmakers to reach success like he does but also be kind or work as a team? I get his point but competing is inevitable, if we learned from his take away from his age now, could we still reach the achievement he did in the past?

Competing is quite evitable. Focus on your art and let it speak for itself, congratulate and learn from others. The only person you’re competing against is yourself
