Papua lies in the eastern part of Indonesia ... quite different from the western part - where mostly got the influences from Middle East, thus making the people mostly muslim - the eastern part of Indonesia got much influence from Portuguese during spice trade, which made them mostly Christian, both Protestant and Catholic ... just like the Philippines which also predominantly Christian ... while in term of tradition, the Papuas (eastern ppl) were also influenced by the Africans - maybe since thousand years ago bf Portuguese came As for the southern part of the country, such Java or Bali, eventhough in Java the majority are muslim, but the influences of Hindu and Buddha were so strong since Majapahit era (you've watched the video, rite ?) making some local traditions are still very Hindu or Buddha Have a great day, Victor, thank you so much for the reaction.
