That's the part I find the most frustrating about endless arcade-style games in general. Most of them don't have a win condition or quota for getting a good ending, in terms of the gameplay itself(or at all, if it has nothing to complete in the entire game otherwise), so considering the inevitability of having a kill screen, max time, and/or human limit, there's no proper ending. And by that I mean a static quota that lets you play afterward if you want/can, and not something like getting a new high score since eventually you will never get to have another one, even if you try to and the game still acts like it's possible. i remember being scared by the game as a kid, i never even played it because i was too scared lol. i think it was a combination of the music and the way patrick stares directly at the screen with his red eyes, he's not even looking at spongebob but at the player

I used to play these exact spongebob flash games all the time when i was younger on nickelodeon's website. Its just too bad that as the saying goes "all good things come to an end" and we eventually had to say R.I.P to adobe flash and the flash games as a whole simply because flash kept having so many security, technical, and maintenance issues

5:24 the love hurts game for me when I was 6 was so obscure and I could not find it so I believed that I made it up but from what I remember it did not looked like this except it had better atmosphere with it being dark and low light as Patrick had glowing red eyes. If they did use stock music, Im not criticizing it - the show did the same. I remember playing Deep Sea Surgeon at a cousin's house when the game released! Given that it's a surgery game, it's definitely one of the more unsettling ones, but at least since it's official, it's not one of those Elsagate atrocities. I have a young cousin who had one, and there was a SpongeBob part to it. I looked it up and there was a disc you got, which you'd install onto the console via USB. I'd love to see a video on it, there's barely anything about it online, but someone uploaded all the files on the Internet archive. Dunno if it'd be easily emulated or if you'd need an actual IXL, but I heard the setup included an emulator.
