As someone that has followed the Spurs since the 70’s they are not wanting to be “competitive “ they are wanting to win it all. The reason that OKC is in the post they are now is because they got the Spurs assistant GM in Presti taught by RC Buford. I’m pretty sure Wright is going to do it the right way.

Brian Wright joined Spurs in 2016 as Assistant Manager from Detroit Pistons. Sam Presti left the Spurs for Seattle Super Sonics in 2006. They never shared time together at Spurs organization, nonetheless beat out one another.

These guys are not beginners. They will keep one or both of the 4th and 8th pick. SA will nit trade for a superstar. They will gather a team who will get PO experience and try to be competitive in 3/4 years. The media and all these youtubers are just trying to put pressure and get some views.

Being aggressive does not mean going all in. If the have an opportunity to add an elite player that fits with Wemby’s timeline this offseason then they should pounce on that. But you are right in terms of not getting rid of their picks because that means they are going all in. But also giving Wemby help is crucial.

This year's free agents and draft is weak compared to 2025. You have to realize that the Sochan experiment cost at least 10 games, also Victor was on minutes restriction. Even if they play with the same players next year, they will be at least a 35-game winner. In the draft if Risacher falls to 4 then pick him and Carter at 8. I feel right there will make a difference. If Risacher is not there then Salaun or Da Silva. The 3 two way I have off brand of David Jones, Quinton Post and Malevy Leons. Next year is where they get their team going forward.

Jonathan doesn't know what the crap he's talking about. We might pick up some free agent veterans but we're not gonna be dealing just to deal. The problem The media fails to understand or appreciate is even Wemby knows that it's going to be a long pool to get to where we need to be when we drafted him we knew this could be a 2-3 year process even though he broke out the way he did. No one is giving up any young stars unless they are grossly overpaid like Trae Young. Picking up DeRozen and Thompson on 3 year deals will make them playoff contenders. Gives the young core time to improve and pickup good role players in the draft over the next 3 seasons. Although I think Alex Sarr is overrated, his ceiling is high, would love to see them trade the 2024 #8 pick + future 1st rounder + Keldon Johnson to the Hawks for Dejounte Murray + 2024 #1 Pick (Sarr). DeRozen and Murray know Pop's system, so it's instant chemistry. Starting Line Up: Wemby, Vassell, Thompson, Murray, DeRozen. Sochan, Sarr, Collins, Jones in the rotation.

I love Duncan but he's the 3rd best Spurs player. Robinson and Wemby are better basketball players, but Duncan had the better and more consistent career. If Wemby lasts as long as Duncan he might end up one of the best players ever
