This actually brings tears to my eyes as this great piece of equipment will be replaced completely by computers eventually. It's sad that future generations will not know how great their recordings can sound going thru this magnificent console. Even if they will put their hands on one, they will not know how to use it properly. I really miss the days where the studio was this magic place with the huge console in the middle, the tape machine in the back and no computer monitors showing wave forms. Those were the days you made music with your ears not your eyes... If you ever mixed thru one of those you know, no plugin can emulate the sound that comes out of this beast. Thanks for a great video!

DBX were (and still are) one of the world's largest producers of VCA chips. Many SSL products used DBX VCAs and op-amps.
