I have owned many metal detectors from a variety of manufactures. They all have their pros and cons. If I had to chose only one it would be my Minelab ETRAC.

That hoard was stolen crown jewels from King Johns boxes lost on the Wash ,Norfolk when he was caught by the tide. It was probably taken by Welsh bowmen and stripped ,as it might be recognized when they tried to sell it. It unknown why they didn't return to collect the gold. But this story is without doubt the truth. Many pieces where often kept in the crown jewels dating from Saxon times. It should be restored to the crown collection.

No it wasn’t. King John’s treasure was lost in the 13th Century, and would bare no resemblance to this treasure. This is Anglo-Saxon, mainly military objects. Probably recovered from a battle and either placed in the ground as an offering or to be recovered at a later date when it was safe to do so.
