The presumption of innocence is not guaranteed in the U.S. Constitution. However, through statutes and court decisions-such as the U.S. Supreme Court case of Taylor v. Kentucky-it has been recognized as one of the most basic requirements of a fair trial. This whole podcast is a discussion between individuals that are trying to explain one side of the argument in the worst terms possible, I wish I could hear the other side of this argument at the same time!!!! I didn't vote for Trump in 2016 because I was hearing such a negative and one sided view Trump on ABC, CBS, NBC, etc. I simply stopped watching these supposed new outlets and started listening more to a balanced discussion when I can find them. I've have wasted my time on this podcast.

Just go read the Presidential Records Act yourself, and you won't be so confused. It's a spurious defence. You don't need to be a lawyer to understand it - its written in clear language. What Trump took are NOT personal records, and he admitted this on tape. From the Act: "(3) The term "personal records" means all documentary materials, or any reasonably segregable portion thereof, of a purely private or nonpublic character which do not relate to or have an effect upon the carrying out of the constitutional, statutory, or other official or ceremonial duties of the President." It's crystal clear what is going on here.

All the judges should make the lawyers represent under oath if they are using artificial intelligence tools to prepare submissions to the court. Then at least we know what’s going on with the rapidity of these motions.
