I've learned that Theresa reciprocal relationship between stakeholders and corporation. There are two types of stakeholders, primary stakeholders are directly impacted by the action of the corporation and have a direct impact on the corporation (example:customers, stockholders, employees, suppliers, gob) while the secondary stakeholder has an indirect impact by the action of the corporation (examples:labor union, future generations, communities, church)

Hi Dr. Pelly, A stakeholder is defined as an entity that has a connection with a firm that involves both advantages and disadvantages. Customers, workers, and suppliers are examples of primary stakeholders as they have direct influence on and are impacted by the company. Labor unions and future generations are examples of secondary stakeholders that have a more indirect relationship. By placing the company at the center of a web of connections, the Stakeholder Model emphasizes how important it is to manage these relationships well, which is opposite of the Countervailing Forces Model, where power is like a "tug-of-war." - Cashauna Temple

THe stakeholder model is a pretty common model I have seen. While you said you have no emperical evidence that considering your stakeholders would benefit a company, its hard to believe that a firm that acknowledges its primary and secondary stakeholders would not have an advantage over firms that don't. The concept of the keiretsu theory is new to me. The idea that firms would become so interwoven with all there stakeholders, does seem beneficial because it would encourage everyone to support each other's success. - Kameron Porter

In the stakeholder model, the corporation is in the middle of a web of relationships comprised of what we call stakeholders. A stakeholder typically has a relationship with a corporation and it's usually a reciprocal relationship including benefits and burdens. The primary stakeholder is directly impacted by the actions of the corporation and they have a direct impact on the corporation itself. Secondary stakeholders have an indirect relationship on the corporation and are also indirectly impacted by the corporation.

By taking into account the interests of both primary and secondary stakeholders, a corporation can make more informed decisions that benefit not only itself but also its wider network of stakeholders.
