Don't build a 3rd dock and build a barracks would be an easy way to adapt. You could send military shipments after 700 wood if you absolutely have to as well

If you’re on land drop a market and a house gather just enough for hunting dogs then transition to food and age up. It’s a market start but only if no tps

@@jfoley3484 ok,,, sounds beautiful,, I'll try, but as a ports i usually get rushed in age 2,and without water boom , i find it difficult to get age 3,,any suggestions for defending in age 2, it's really hard with infantry, 🙄

@@rmalsawmtluanga384 putting your TC's relatively close is very effective in my experience, makes pushing in much harder for the enemy. Making a little wall here and there, placing other buildings defensively and save the first shipment to get 8 bows and 6 musks asap will stop any hard rush. The weakness with this can be if the enemy tries to starve you out, so make sure to secure your hunts. I start herding in 2 other hunts as soon as i hit ageup if I feel a rush might be coming. Aging with 500 food is a good alternative to 400 wood cuz your options are open for making units or doing a crazy fast FF with 700 gold shipment. Hope that helps.

In this video he has about 60 villagers with upgrades worth of income, so 6 cass or caravel+wood is not really that much extra. What you need in this situation is to get into fortress age ASAP to start making your preferred units of goon/cass/organ/mamelukes which are all fortress age units (alternatively you can FI). Even in less economic semi FFs people often go for exiled prince because then you can get your first shipment and first batch of fortress age units before you would have even aged with a different politician (and more villagers since your TC isn't aging slow).

Can someone tell me why it is better to get the tp and age with 10 vills instead of building a house and ageing with 12 vills, you lose more than 30sec where you aren't training vills and secondly why it that tp card the best choice?

So 100w for house and 200f for 2 more villagers come out to be 100/0.5+200/0.84=438 villager seconds. With 10-12 villagers this slows your age up by about 40 seconds. For the land build that means each of your trading posts, your stagecoach tech, and your second town center are all slowed down by 40 seconds. It doesn't seem worth it. For the water build you want to get the town center by the coast ASAP or your opponent can send two caravels and kill it while it's building, so it's more of a necessity... I'm not sure if it actually optimizes your build, but it does also get the wood crates in a lot faster so I wouldn't be surprised if it's also better. ATP makes TPs a lot cheaper and makes them pretty resistant to attacks early on in the game. Your opponent usually has to invest more resources to kill an advanced trading post than you invested in building one, (and they pay for themselves extremely quick).
