@@ChestersonJack i thought that's more of the museum ending's message. I saw this as more of a reflection of Stanley's life through the Narrator even subtly hinting it's his own life he's talking about, which makes this even sadder and deep.

I've always found it amazing how this game manages to make the player never know exactly which ending is really the "true ending" each route gives a different idea of what's really going on. is stanley real? is stanley daydreaming and detaching himself from reality more and more? is this world just a game and stanley is just an empty shell controlled by a player? Is the narrator stanley or someone completely different? is everything just a metaphor for the gaming industry? or even to the nature of narrative creation? everything is left to interpretation and I love it!

I really can't help but think that this ending says things about the narrator instead who is living days that feel the same. Which he would decide to daydream of what he would wish would happen in his daily life, deciding to make Stanley do the deciding for him and go on adventures with him wrapping each ending up and going on another, a loop of possibilities. ofc im aware that this is a game and all and he's aware but i just find it interesting to think about

@noahborthwick32312 жыл бұрын
Finally someone got the point. Yes that’s literally the point of this ending. “Work” is actually a metaphor for gaming here. Stanley craves choice, but every choice he has has already been pre written before he even turned on the game. We all see that Stanley’s job is mind nummingly boring. But then, when we get this ending, we realize we have literally been doing Stanley’s job this entire time. There is a way to not press the next button the game asks. Quit the game. Probably the reason this game is the only game I know of with an achievement you get for not playing it

@@noahborthwick3231 Which is also why I have a love-hate relationship with Stanley Parable. It's a brilliantly written game, with amazing atmosphere working to convey the stupidest and most pretentious point imaginable.
