Waaaaay better than I could have done at that age. Ya'll ratting on the poor kid and he's only 11. I'd like to see you get in front of thousands of people at age 11 and try and play the Star Spangled Banner. As a trumpet player myself, I can second the fact that it is a lot harder to hit high notes when you're nervous. I'm sure he can nail those high notes when he's at home practicing.

He played it fairly well, but yes. Doing what he did chopped it up too much. If you can’t do the whole part up the octave, don’t do part of it. Just doesn’t sound good. But fairly good performance overall.

Can't blame him for not trying in front of literally thousands of people. Yeah he kinda fumbled it near the end but it wasn't bad as a whole. So chill guys, he's still pretty young. Everybody in this comment section needs to stop and think could you do that? Not just play the song but perform it in front of thousands of people. The vast majority of us could certainly not. If you have nothing nice to say don’t say it so that the rest of us can appreciate their talent. Just because we only see them playing this song does not mean they can’t play anything else.
