This feels even more like a Marvel version of Kingdom Come with the numbers filed off. The shot also with Steve with the gangsters behind him which get riled up by the shield police feels like as if it was just directly taken out of TDKR.

The comic as a whole is good....i liked capt america's struggle in the story. However i do have some gripes. 1. In what world does daredevil outlive Spidey? I'm sorry. Matt is a crazy MF who's fearless. A quality that doesn't contribute to long life. When i saw him as an old dude....it felt weird. Then to hear he outlived spidey was.....annoying to me. When i heard he got assassinated......i felt things made sense. 2. While i did get the drama of Steve being in conflict with the child of his teammates.... I didn't dig the vibe of the child of the two wealthy avengers going bad.... I feel like perhaps a new unaffiliated character would be better, instead of staining the legacy of wasp and iron man. 3. I get what they're going for....but using red skull was a bit too blunt for me. Dude's the literal devil....If they had used kingpin, mandarin or at least even Baron zemo...I feel it would be more believable. 4. Granted...we needed cap back in action thus the rediscovered super soldier serum....but why cant they mass produce capt level defenders? Why is it just him who it works on? I mean a super serum is worthless if it only works for a minority of folks. but still, despite my issues.... I'm still willing to see where this goes.

The classic answer to your first question: Age of Apocalypse. Daredevil survived the whole thing. Spidey didn't.

@@rotimigbadebo9609 A couple of caveats. 1.Peter Parker never became Spider-Man in the AoA. He (alongside his aunt and uncle) were slain when Apocalypse forces began mass culls of humanity. 2.Both Kingpin and Daredevil were in league with Apocalypse forces.

I dunno, maybe I was just spoiled growing up reading X-Men. But Avengers dystopias just seem really lacklustre in comparison. Hopefully Zdarsky can work his usual magic in the latter issues and get me invested though.

Wasn’t Tony and Janet only together for like a short amount of time and she wasn’t even dating the real Tony she was dating a life model decoy of Tony that thought he was the real Tony but turns out Tony was still dead cuz he was killed by cap marvel in civil war 2
