New favorite Kelly quote--"It's better than cherubs with six packs." Love it :)

Possibly the best thing ever said on this channel. I couldn't stop laughing.

I've been craving a deck purchase for so long, and I'm done! I can hardly wait to have it home here. I think though I'll be doing my first contact paper mod to avoid the chipping issue. This was great! I really enjoy listening and learning through you. Thanks so much,:)

This is a beautiful and powerful deck that has been badly served by its publisher. Personally I don't mind the colour of the borders, but would've liked less of it, and a larger picture. I found that edging the deck with a matching indigo blue did a lot to hide the chipping and badly cut corners. Mainstream publishers need to realise that one of the reasons indie decks are so sought out is because the artist has greater influence over production, and it shows in the finished work. Schiffer, instead, seems to show little respect for Heather McClelland's work, to let things like those badly cut edges go by. Rant over. (: Thank you, Kelly, for the thorough walk-through.

:( It's too bad, I do intend to edge it in indigo, I have a pigment marker somewhere that I think will be the perfect color! I feel your pain in the rant ::hugs:: But the deck is worth it!

Agree on the beauty and power of the deck, but I wish/hope they change the printing - would love to see in a card stock like classical tarot decks. thinner, shuffle-able, smaller and in a small compact box.

@@TheTruthinStory Did it get better once you trimmed and eged it? I'm wanting to pick it up regardless of these issues and just wondering if your experience is better now.

I'm so glad you did this walk through of this deck. I have been unsure about buying it for several months because of the borders and having to trim them to see the images . I just received mine today and was hoping maybe they would not need to be trimmed, but the sides were so chewed up and uneven , I had to trim them. But I'm glad I did because they are gorgeous and I am so glad that I finally broke down and bought it. I love the way you went through the guide book, that was spot on what I was wanting to know about this deck, was how she had the guide book for it, because it felt like it deserved a really good guide book. And the guide book is amazing. Thank you for sharing this . Fantastic walk through of these cards.

You know I'm all for trimming but I am not for "having" to trim them because of chewed up edges, so for the publisher I'd love to just say don't buy these so they get the message, at the same time, for the artist and the visionary behind the cards I want everyone to experience it because it really is a fantastic deck!

I just loved the time you spent on the guidebook Kelly because like yourself I like the choice of knowing the symbology is there when I choose to use it and the Bibliography section just adds such a special touch. I love my Elemental Tarot Deck but always missed that the symbols aren't especially detailed in the book. Thank you for sharing I have had my eyes on this deck for a while and love it's charm!
@TheTruthinStory6 жыл бұрын
Ahh that is interesting to know that the Elemental Tarot isn't as detailed, I think that is a real plus for this deck!

I actually love the blue color of this deck. It adds calmness to your readings and you get a beautiful picture right in the middle. I will put this on my wish list. I've never edged a deck and am scared to do so. The cutting part. TRIMMING! Sorry....beautiful deck. Going to purchase.
@TheTruthinStory6 жыл бұрын
I agree, I do love the blue as well, when I trimmed it I left the top and bottom as well as a thin blue edge on the side! If you skip to the end of Part 2 you can see how it turned out :)

I watched Cathy McClelland's progress as she painted the cards and posted them on her website and was sorely disappointed with Schiffer's production of her artwork. She puts out a really great newsletter every few months that's a great supplement to the guidebook if you're interested 😊 You can also see her artwork in more detail.

I have no problem with the borders or cardstock. Beautiful cards. I was hestitant to buy the deck because of the all the blue coloring. Not fond of that color. I love the deck!
@TheTruthinStory6 жыл бұрын
I'm so glad your enjoying yours, borders, cardstock and all! That's such a subjective thing and we all like different card stock! My biggest issue is the peeling and chipping before I even shuffle it lol, BUT I think it's a gorgeous deck and worth it!

I had to take a break from KZbin, but oh how I missed your reviews, Kelly. You’re such a powerhouse! All these companies should be throwing their decks at you and begging you to review them. But then again, maybe it’s better that they’re not because I do need to hold on to some of my money lol. I’m a little late to this party and I’m avoiding new decks as I really want to dive deep into some decks that I have now, but I’m having a really hard time with this one. Damn, this deck is everything! The one thing holding me back though is that card stock, especially for $36. I mean come on!!! The Mary-El is my jam (and I feel this would be even more so) but I have to say the card stock does keep me from using it on a wider scale. But now, I’m debating on this one and I might just have to suck it up. These images resonate sooo deep... I feel like if the Mary-El and the Starchild had a baby, this deck would be it -hopefully it would get the cardstock genes from the Starchild though lol. Anyway, amazing review 🙏🏻💗 That Tower! Omg yes!
@TheTruthinStory6 жыл бұрын
Hello Ms. Emme! I WISH it had the cardstock of Starchild but I definitely agree to the Mary El/Starchild baby LOL :D The cardstock is definitely a meh but well worth it to me for this deck!
