I still have my PS2 version of this game. James Allen and Martin Brundle talking you through the under/overcut (or leapfrog as it was known then) was great. A few things I note: - Bahrain 2004 did have a hairpin for turn 4. It was redone in 2005 but I don’t think they re-rendered the track for the 05 or 06 games. - I suspect the contours are slightly off as the hills are out of place on most circuits. - the OSD is brake bias and traction control (not ABS). - refuelling strategies are fun. Enjoy! - enjoy the fuel burning rules in Q3 (they’re confusing as fuck) and also in Q1 and Q2 you couldn’t complete the lap when the clock hit zero.

Oh man the nostalgia…I love how some things don’t change regardless of what year of f1 game it is, complaints about Kerbs and the Al but of course spin212, penalty212 and bottle212 all live on in this series. Looking forward to a full season of a game I remember well. You somehow weren’t the first engine blow up…that was surprising

Welcome to F1 2006, you will need a lot of practice and luck. Here are other tips 1. The most important thing is to finish the races so that other teams call you. 2. Kerbs are horrible, you have to practice to know which ones you can step on and which ones you can't. 3. Oil literally kills you, jump off the racing line when you see the flag. 4. When entering the pits there is a mini game. Very attentive to that For now it is what is important. Good luck because you will need it.

i’ve just bought the game again for pure nostalgia reasons. couldn’t get a first or second seat drive at any team on career hard difficulty, only test driver role.. so changed difficulty to medium and started new career mode. also having issues with AI being incredibly slow at some circuits.. Do you know if they improve on other tracks?

A bit of F1 History: Lost Boys was a company of a dutch business man called Michiel Mol. He first sponsored Jos Verstappen and the Arrows team, then Christijan Albers, your team mate in the game. That's why it's on the car. After Midland had financial trouble Mol bought the team together with two other people for around $116 million, and named the team Spyker. Spyker lasted around 1 season & They were awful. They were very slow and Albers wasn't a good driver,. (he drove away with the fuel hose still attached at at pit stop at one race.) They also had financial troubles after 1 year and Mol sold the team to Vijay Mallya and he named the team Force India.

Lost Boys were in F1 with Orange Arrows several years before 2006, and they owned a game studio that is known today as Guriella Games, a studio purchased by Sony Computer Entertainment that was a part of SCE Worldwide Studios which Studio Liverpool, the developer of this game was also apart of too. Love this game, the thing that annoyed me the most was Ferrari's red rear wing, no idea why it was like that, otherwise, one of the best F1 games ever made.

i have some tips; to avoid a 180 degree spin accelerate and deaccelerate really fast (like a punta taco but without pressing the brakes) while you turn to the opposite side to correct the car (or just dont press anything and pray) dont abuse of the kerbs bc when you are at a certain speed (like 120 mph) the game makes you auto spin and you probably crash hard enough to end your race (this happens usually at chicanes or low speed turns) be careful getting the slipstream bc if you hit the back of the car you both will autospin and your race will be over in the start use tcl in 3 and shift up to the 3rd gear really fast trust me you get a little bit of time by doing that (at least on a controler) and the last tip is when you crash and lose the front wing press the brake pedal really fast on turns (so you dont understeer avoiding a crash and losing too much time)

I've played every F1 game from 99 to now and I have to say there is something missing from the newer games. The newer cars aren't as nimble and quick like the ones from this game. They're almost like Carbon Fiber tanks tumbling around the track nowadays. I miss the old F-1 games with the grooved tires and loud engines.

I dunno, Magny always put on good if not great racing. Now if you want boring, it hosted the death throes of Group C sports cars in 92 or 93 though and Peugeot dominated with their Le Mans winning cars and utterly dominated a handful of cars. F1 at least, full grids

Please Please play f1 2010 in the future as well, the atmosphere and design of that game is UNMATCHED in the F1 franchise so far. It's not available for sale anymore, nor are the original CD's playable (blame microsoft and securom) but I can provide a playable copy. It also has arguably the best intro music, and general soundtrack of any F1 game.
