Thanks to our sponsor Shakey’s pizza formerly DT’s

My favorite was after 9/11 where one of the sponsors was an Afghani restaurant that changed their name to something very patriotic and their new motto was "We didn't do nothing!"

It's easy to forget how much people's voices change as they age until you hear something like this.

Part of it is also the tape decaying and playing back at different speeds. That was the case for the Fotuku Bank audio

I remember, listening live, and to this day, probably the most memorable and funny segment of the show ever ever ever to me!!!!!

Right outside my office window as I type this is the trail that replaced the tracks the fair train ran on
@truckerkevthepaidtourist Жыл бұрын
actually make it a rail-to-trail I didn't know if they tore everything up completely or not or if the tracks are still there? Wondering when it ran back in the day if it wasn't fair time that they used to run freight up through there too or did it just only run the fair train once a year? Was the long-running battle to turn it into rail-to-trail
@rustyshackleford1842 Жыл бұрын
@@truckerkevthepaidtourist tracks are totally torn out in Fishers and paved path replaced. South of fishers to the fairgrounds the tracks are torn out too with the ballast still remaining. Tracks still exist (I believe) in Noblesville where the museum is that the train was kept. Regarding running freight trains, not for probably half a decade on those tracks. They were in pretty bad shape and barely able to handle the couple runs a year by the lightweight fair train.

@@truckerkevthepaidtourist There was a long fight between the cities of Noblesville and Fishers against the Museum. It wasn't the best of groups running the museum, and the cities were just waiting for a chance to push them out for a group that would agree to tear the tracks out south of the museum. There was still freight at the time this was recorded, but the Museum continued operation long after the freight ended. Originally there were tracks on both sides of the fairgrounds, but both lines have or are now being turned into trails. The rails now stop where the street running began in downtown Noblesville. On the South end, the tracks used to connect to the belt, but some of the rails were stolen several years ago, plus the diamond over CSX had long been removed.
