A fine line between the stingrays and the Psychedelic garage revival that happened in the 80s . With clubs like The Crypt in Deptford, I loved all the garage Nuggets bands of the 60s But also adored a lot of the psychobilly bands. and i could hear a big connection in both. Also with bands like The Vibes. Purple things ,

glad to see so many fans out there so its not just me! I reckon if these guys had the production their music deserved they would have been mind blowing. but the low key sound is just so raw I love it!

Believe it or not , I was listening to The Stingrays , as far back as '86 , in Dallas ,Texas (Partly the roots of their music.) , and playing them on public radio , too. I know the "Glory year" for this stuff was '83 , but , it took a while to get noticed in the states. And , it did'nt get noticed much. I was just as surprised as you when people started worshipping Billy Childish in the mid - late 90's. A good friend of mine worked with Mark , when the band was going . The Earls of Suave are still around? Good to know. Alec also played in Magic Christian with Cyril Jordan and sometimes Clem Burke...He also turned up in the latter day Chocolate Watchband. An ex - Stingray plays in Morrissey's band? Well , if nothing else , he has good taste in sidemen. If he was also in The Polecats , then , I met him , once......

OK ,so not the best band in the world !but they did have some cracking good tunes! this band were a big influence on me,always down to earth, unpretenious and enthusiastic about what they did .Far too clever for the psychobillies, not authentic enough for the dull minded 60's scene kids, they never really fitted into any niche(the 80's was all about fucking niches wasnt it)Their cover versions introduced us to bands we might not of heard of -13th Floor elevators, love, wire, joy division.thanks lads!

Gli Sting Rays sono una delle psychobilly bands piu originali. Esiste una versione di questo brano dove l'assolo è fatto con un violino, gli da un sapore ancora piu ''country''.

We can agree to disagree. FYI The Cramps are most definitely but not completely rockabilly. The Cramps happen to cover many many rockabilly artist. For example: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gravest_Hits
