"it can't keep going up" - every person who missed a rally on the sidelines

Nobody knows exactly what 2025 will bring. Most of these analysts had no idea the SP would have two years of over 20 percent gains. Also, there are large tax ramifications if you don’t have a clear plan. I think if somebody is considering repositioning they should use a stop loss or even better write covered calls.

It's not just about having money to invest in stocks; it's about knowing the right strategies for profit and managing risk. That's why working with an investment advisor is important-they have insights not available to everyone. I have been making more with less risk since i started working with one
@Mlanderos-t9e17 күн бұрын
I totally agree with you. I started out investing on my own too and lost quite a bit. After the 2020 crash, I managed to pull out about $160k. I then invested that money with an analyst, and in just seven months, I made almost $580,000. It's amazing how having the right guidance can turn things around!

@Seegie1617 күн бұрын
@staroftheshow0 to a degree yes. But it's not really hard to see that certain rallies are dead and the fed don't meet til Jan 27th and no real catalysts so a correction is going down. Would I rather have bought 1 week ago or now or even better when the spy 575 gap fills?
@993mike16 күн бұрын
You can’t just blindly keep investing more without looks at the signs. This market is pretty fully priced, and as we face most likely employment headwinds, massive consumer and government debt, multiple wars around the world, continued softening in Europe and China, a rise in interest rates and sticky inflation, a cooling of the AI stocks, and investors itching for the new year to sell and lock in profits so not to incur taxes in 2024, I think a LOT of signs signal caution.
@Seegie1616 күн бұрын
@993mike not to mention the market priced in way more cuts than it's now perceived to get. So forward looking should mean retraction

Stocks extended their year-to-date rally following the CPI report, with the S&P 500 last up 0.8% in afternoon trading. but I don't know if stocks will quickly rebound, continue to pull back or move sideways for a few weeks, or if conditions will rapidly deteriorate.I am under pressure to grow my reserve.

There are many other interesting stocks in many industries that you might follow. You don't have to act on every forecast, so I'll suggest that you work with a financial advisor who can help you choose the best times to purchase and sell the shares or ETFs you want to acquire.
@JaneBlac-17 күн бұрын
I agree, that's the more reason I prefer my day to day investment decisions being guided by an advisor, seeing that their entire skillset is built around going long and short at the same time both employing risk for its asymmetrical upside and laying off risk as a hedge against the inevitable downward turns, coupled with the exclusive information/analysis they have, it's near impossible to not out-perform, been using my advisor for over 2years+ and I've netted over 2.8million.

@Seegie16 Very good. So go into all cash and start buying at lower prices. Make a shopping list right now. Why take a hit to your account that is going to happen this month. I'm getting paid 5% in the meantime.
@Seegie1617 күн бұрын
@stk6mkt ya my cash is in swvxx. Close to 5%. But I feel being 55% cash is good enough. 40% is in spyd with a 4% divy which should grow as stock market drops, 10% schg, 5% small and mid cap indv growth. I'm not expecting a 55% crash at once. If it happens then oh well, I'm only 45% in, it will recapture. I'm happy with 55% to deploy. I don't hate the idea of being 100% cash, but I think it's a little excessive imo. We drop more than 40%, the fed will print like no tomorrow especially with trump leaning all over Powell. I think I've net my match, when it comes to being bearish. I'm always told I'm the most defensive stock market guy anyone has ever met...lol.. but now more than ever, I think we will have our day. Also I'm hedged with shorts on tesla, microstrategy, spxs and sqqq in my second, smaller account
