Bought the 8040 for 300 bucks brand new back in July 2017. Went in to buy a Taures 9mm but when I saw this sitting there I had to have it. So glad I bought the Cougar. It's been a great pistol

Have owned the 9mm for 10 years and have put over a thousand rounds through it with no issues. Very accurate and dependable.

Yes. Stoeger's Cougar is Double-Action/Single-Action (DA/SA). If the hammer is not cocked, your first shot will be Double-Action, then it will be Single-Action until the hammer is de-cocked. I think this is a brilliant pistol design and I don't know why it hasn't taken off. I think they could have a better trigger our least aftermarket parts and support a better trigger. The sites could be better with a red front sight and all blacked out with your site. More magazines available more grip options aftermarket. I don't know why more people have been adopted this pistol is a brilliant design. I think if the trigger was better double-action and single-action. If they had a grip like a CZ that would probably be better. But the all alloy frame is nice very nice.Absolutely a brilliant design

Just got my 40 cal this past weekend! LOVE IT, and have a 50 round extended clip for a zombie apocalypse as well... :) Seriously, love the all black finish of the Stoeger 40!

ALSO, The .390 looks like a small version of a Colt 1911. The 45 caliber looks like it's Brushed Nickle finish. The .380 is Blued.

I have a Llama 45 caliber semi Auto Pistol and a Llama .380 Caliber semi Auto Pistol. Bother were Made by Stoeger. My Problem is the .380 I only have one Magazine. I have been unable to find any more? Now My 45 caliber it takes the Colt 1911 magazines 7/8 rounds The .380 magazine only holds 7 rounds. Any suggestions where I might find another magazine for my .380???

I lucked up and found one in 2019 after a 3 year exhausted search new in the box w/2 mags, i would not settle for any other pistol. Now i,m on the serch for the Girsan MC 14 .380 auto. and Girsan regard.

I heard that it was the answer to the Glock but it didn't sell. Very nice pistol if you can find it. It took me three years to find that gun after seeing it on a TV show.

You can find them but it's a bit difficult to my undertanding they only sell it directly and not to distributors so finding a gun shop that can get one in is a bit hit or miss. I found one a few days ago and so far I love it

Numrich Gun Parts has quit a few replacement parts. There from the original Beretta Cougar but are interchangeable with the Stoeger.

My gun was sent back for a slide problem to stoeger/Benelli and they sent me a whole new pistol which has not missed a beat in over 800 rounds now.
