I watched this with great attention. It's perfectly explained and i liked that you mentioned the contribution of the purinergic fibers as well and also the fact that in this case sympathetic fibers doesn't have a significant role in gastric motility unlike the previous case with intestinal motility which drives me crazy 😊. So i am left with one question, if i may Medicosis, what causes the well known butterfly effect after we get emotionally excited and more important why do we get stomach cramps when we are depressed or sad i.e. what's the detailed mechanism involved here, is it an excess gastrin secretion which augment stomach contraction or just the fact that parasympathetic and sympathetic fibers are no longer in sync and they're just going haywire or simply one of the systems override the other ? It would be great if you do a video or just a simple answer will do just enough :)

It’s the latter! May be in addition to some motilin!

@@MedicosisPerfectionalis i did a search on motilin and i got to say how still we don't know a lot about our own physiology despite all the breakthrough that have been done. Maybe somethings due to its complexity are meant to remain obscure. It's a weird existence we live in!

First, your videos are great and inspiring. Second, does the vagus secretes gastrin releasing peptide or is it the meissner's plexus nerves?

In cases where liquids sit in the stomach longer(6+ hours) than solids, would this be more related to low stomach acid rather than nerve dysfunction?
