It is certainly bizarre to know and see people like Pat retire, just because they've been here for SO LONG. Whenever I think back to when I was kid and my parents would watch the news, Pat, Laurel Porter, Jeff Gianola, Dave Saleksky, Matt Zaffino... so many who've been here forever. Literally longer than I've been alive, and I'm nearly 31. It's wild, knowing how usually news anchors and reporters get shifted around every few years between stations, whether locally, or on a more national scale, yet somehow here, we've managed to maintain and keep most of the same faces here for decades. Of all of them, I've always found Pat the most balanced, fair and great of them all, and thus, memorable. Thanks Pat for setting the standard! It's always weird going back to watch movies you had recorded off TV onto a VHS tape, and you see the old news ads and see these guys there in the 90s. Or going on here and looking up various old news clips from the local channels. It's a weird form of nostalgia. Back to our big, old, heavy cube of a CRT TV we go!

I have FULL confidence that Blair will do an exemplary Job as your Successor Pat! But i will miss you anyways! You aired more of my comments than i ever could have imagined, be they From Calls or Online Posts, but considering i was so new to your Show, maybe only 2 or 3 years, i felt it quite the honor! Not that i'm trying to nudge Blair or anything like that. But even tho i didn't find your Show til you were nearing the end, i immediately put it on Series Recording on my DVR & i don't do that with just ANY Show! I have also saved about half a dozen of them for posterity or until i can't afford my cable TV anymore? Thanks 4 your Decades of hard work & dedication to Portland & Best Wishes on your New Endeavor!!! Check in with us once in awhile!
