Dancing with Creation is a series of public art works at 26 Railway Avenue in Ringwood East. Leading you to the laneway are hand painted planter boxes lining Railway Avenue. Once in the laneway, you’ll be captivated by the centrepiece of the art work, a wall mural stretching into the sky. This is framed by a footpath artwork leading you to look at the art from all angles.
Painted by artists, Robert Young, Simone Thomson and Mullum Mullum Indigenous Gathering Place (MMIGP) program leader Chris Hume, as well as program participants, this artwork is a collaborative effort bringing together the local indigenous community so they can share their story for the community to see.
Dancing with Creation is a Reconciliation project developed by Maroondah City Council in collaboration with the Mullum Mullum Indigenous Gathering Place. The artwork was created as part of the Ringwood East Place Activation Project, and made possible through the Suburban Revitalisation Program with funding from the Victorian Government.
