Here are my memories of the rock band, Boston and, in particular, their first album which contained the massive hit "More Than a Feeling". Was Marianne real? Watch this video to find out!

Dave, thank you for the nod to this fantastic band. I am so late to the party! I subscribe to your good stuff channel and was completely unaware of this one! I clearly have my homework cut out for me to watch these!

Love, love LOVE Boston. There debut album is amazing and pretty much anything else they did is on my playlist. I even enjoy their later projects. And totally agree about treating mental illness. My wife and two of my children suffer from clinical depression and I have a good friend who was just hospitalized after attempting suicide. Thanks as always for great content!

I 100% agree with you. I listened to that album on Amazon Music a couple months ago while working out, and sang along to every song. My favorite from that album (and Boston overall) is "Foreplay/Long Time".

Great video Dave! I too loved Boston and that first album was as close to perfect as any album could be and clinical depression is a horrible disease and it is sad that the late singer Brad Delp suffered so much especially since his music has helped so many people over the years. I have had major depression my entire life and music is the one thing I always turn to when I am at my lowest.

I'm Marianne from Danvers, Mass Brad Delp and myself lived on the the same street Growing up. That's how we met It's about us. So many family and friends know that. And I know this now too Sorry to say....... It isn't about Tom's cousin

@mariannepatrie5260. I always wondered if that rumor was true, that you are the Marianne in the song. While I didn't know you or Brad, I grew up 2 doors down from your big yellow house on the corner. I was good friends with your youngest brother Jay when we were kids and thru high school, but lost touch with him once I moved in the '90s. The Meadows, Your Market, Tapley Park.....back when Danvers was Danvers

Other Boston bands I liked was Pixies and Aerosmith. As far as Boston goes their debut is what I call a perfect record. Every song is great and you can just push play and not have to skip a track. Hitch a Ride is probably my favorite but a case could be made for MTaF and Long Time. As an aside...I had to order a new Discover card as my old one expired. Had a few options for design and I chose one that looks like an old cassette tape. It's pretty cool and it's funny to watch the younger people ask me what it is.

Of course there's a third band out of Boston that's pretty good - Aerosmith! But like you said Mr. Dave, let's focus on Boston!! The debut album is like the Cars debut album - WONDERFUL! They're both so good it's almost like they were greatest hits albums!! The one thing that remained the same with Boston was the excellent art work on the albums! I don't know if the same person was responsible for it or not, but it was consistently good!! I saw Boston in 2016 for the 40th anniversary tour! The new lead singer is very good, and of course Tom still sounds great!!📻🎤🎸🎶🇺🇸

Boston was the greatest band of all time! Scholz may have been the mastermind, but...The triple threat combination of Brad Delp, Barry Goudreau, & Sib Hashian, were truly the lightning in the bottle, and the DEFINING sound of Boston. Brad Delp had one of the greatest voices ever! Also cool to know is that Sib's gorgeous daughter Lauren Hashian is married to "The Rock". How cool is that?

Okay, I am going to maybe make you jealous and tell you I DID see them live. No question the first album made the second a bit disappointing. But even still the second was still phenomenal.

I love all of their stuff....and I did get to see them live as well. I think it was either 87 or 88. They were out on the road supporting "Third Stage".
