that's what makes Queen so great...whatever musical genre they ventured into, they succeeded in...that's what happens when you have four geniuses working together as a team, all feeding each other ideas on making all their songs better...I've read that no matter who wrote or started the song, all four of them would have a look and listen at it, and they'd all add or delete to the original vision or idea for the song...that's pretty awesome.They all had different musical interests, and so you can see that almost every Queen song features a blend of genres, be it metal, jazz, thrash, funk, blues, rockabilly....just awesome.

If you read a bit between the lines, you'll see why John doesn't play with Queen anymore (or with anyone for that matter). Seems that Queen was two tag-teams: John&Freddie and Roger&Brian. On Freddie's demise John was probably the one that took it the hardest - because Freddie was the charismatic supporter to John's timid character. Just listen to Brian: "Freddie, sort of, sang it until he bled, cause he was so committed to making it sound the way John wanted".
@pancho1101938 жыл бұрын
+SGresponse It is known that Roger and Brian used to fight all the time and Freddie was a mediator between them. I would say that the only tag-team in the band was Freddie&Roger, being honest they were the only two friends in the band.
@arishafatima37108 жыл бұрын
+pancho110193 I have to agree with you both. Also, I read somewhere that Brian and John didn't get along that well with each other especially after Queen's new sound in the Hot Space album. There were songs that John wrote that didn't include guitar at all and that seemed to piss off. Also, it is worth noting that initally, Roger and John were planning to continue Queen with or without Brian around 1992 when he was touring with his own band, but then Brian decided to come back and John left.

John felt that without Freddie there was no queen and he was not going to continue in any other forum- with any other singer- there was a lot of squabbling but they all agreed it was what kept them so creative- John also has 6 children and he wanted to be home with his family- Freddie was like a big brother to John I once read also.
@Элен-у5п6 жыл бұрын
@@gar7reever754 The last performance of John as part of the Queen group was held at Wembley Stadium on April 20, 1992 as part of the London charity concert in memory of Freddie Mercury. And at that moment he had 4 children (sons Luke and Camaron were born a little later) In 2001, John officially and quite sharply spoke about the joint work of Brian May and Roger Taylor with the musician Robbie Williams on the remake of the song We Are The Champions for the box office movie The Knight. In an interview with The Sun, the Deacon stated: This is one of the greatest songs ever written by mankind, and I think they ruined it. I would not like to slander, but let's just admit that Robbie Williams is not Freddie Mercury. Freddie can not be replaced, and even more so by Williams.

How more human could Freddie get?? Brian says he sang Johnny's song"another one bites the dust"till he bled just so he could make it sound as funky as John wanted it.,.makes me cry.,.goes to show how much he valued each one of the band members and wanted to make everyone of them feel as comfortable as they could get.. And,I've watched many of their official videos and live performances,I must say John had a lot of funk in him,even with a calm demeanor,he always had an.. energy to him,it's like whenever Freddie fired up,John got sparked..makes me understand his state of shock after Freddie's death and eventual leaving of the band,nobody else could bring out the fun in him and convey his feelings like Freddie did..Rest in peace...my Persian popinjay

And I wasn't searching for it anymore and today I was just finished making payroll for the month of March and I am rewarding myself by watching Queen interviews including the BoRhap casts interviews and I remembered seeing the thumbnail of "Queen: The making of You're my Best Friend" because I thought I would see that John wrote it for Freddie. But he actually wrote it for his wife. So I kept the sequence and watch this video which is not suppose to be about Another One Bite the Dust and I'm so happy that I accidentally and finally found that testimonial and being able to witness that it the comment I read was true. The more I listen to Queen songs the more I realize how much I have missed and how ill-informed I was. All along I thought that "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" was an Elvis Presley song adopted by Wham. After I watched the movie, I am getting educated. Can you believe it that I have not heard of Freddie Mercury? Now, I am listening to Queen songs and it is playing in my head all the time. First, I was enamored by the haunting "Love of My Life", then I was hooked on "Crazy Little Thing...." for weeks as I was choreographing it for a performance. Now, I have " Don't Stop Me Now" playing in my head all the time because I love the beat and I am choreographing it as a surprise performance for a friend's birthday. Sometimes, I catch myself subtly dancing while in a supermarket line or at work in a stressful situation. It is a stress reliever! Thanks, Queen! I am falling in love....

Interesting the ebb and flow of relationship dynamics- I always thought that they all connected with each other on different levels at different times. Very fluid. However I think that John and Freddie bonded over their shyness. John who I suspect had suffered with social anxiety would not only have a drink to quell the nerves but watch Freddie put on his stage persona and feel empowered enough to join. There were times he used to join Freddie by playing next to the piano- I thought it might have been to make sure they were perfectly together. Perhaps, but maybe Freddie was John’s ‘rock’ on stage someone that was there and he knew it would be alright? Then when Freddie died John didn’t have his reassuring shadow by his side and decided that it was over for him.

Freddie really did write it in 10 minutes? While in the bath!? Amazing... Also, this is the first time I’ve heard John speak

When I first heard this song on the radio i thought it was Elvis. I was in a 3 day shock when I found out it was a Queen’s song.

As an American, I was never into the songs that made it big here like Crazy Little Thing Calked Love, or Under Pressure. They were good songs, but I absolutely adored BoRap and all the big Euro hits.

As another comment says... again. As an American I’m sorry for my idiotic peers not realizing how *fantastic* Queen is

Jazz is not a weak album at all!!!! It has brilliant songs such as Bicycle Race, Fat Bottomed Girls, Jealousy, Don´t Stop Me Now, Mustapha, Let Me Entertain You and In Only Seven Days
