TIX will represent Norway with the song Fallen Angel at the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 in Rotterdam.
TIX has already been one of the biggest artist in his home country for many years.
But behind the success story that is spelled TIX lays a different tale of Andreas Haukeland, the man behind the trademarked head band, sunglasses and fake fur coat.
Diagnosed with OCD and tourettes syndrom, Andreas Haukeland built an armour around himself with the character of TIX.
Through his hits he wanted to finally become accepted and gather people. But after his big break and numerous top position on the charts, Andreas felt even more lonely and the darkness caught up with him
At this point he decided to put mental health on the agenda.
Now he wants to tell his story.

At 0:19 you can see the dice he has around the neck, representing another uno reverse card towards the Norwegian media criticising his song and giving it a 1/6! He was about to pull out of the Norwegian qualifier for ESC, but he remembered what he did with the name TIX, and did exactly the same towards the bad criticism. He even had it in hand while singing and giving a gentle wave towards the camera, which made it 10x better!

The songs was ment to be in this closeed group,, but became so popular that others also listened to the songs. I was a russ mother when his songs was popular. Bouth, me and my doughter was able to see that the lyrics was not ment to ofend anyone. Imao he had nothing to say sorry for. But he did anyway. his song has grown an INSANE amount for me, and the fact that he took something that caused a negative impact on his life as a kid (mainly because of other kids being jerks) and turned it around to something positive is so heartwarming to hear. it was strangely comforting hearing about his struggles with anxiety and loneliness as well, i really think that can help people feel like they aren't alone in those struggles.

What he didnt mention here, how these depressions and anxieties led him to suicide. He doesnt talk about it much. But it’s true. Yet people are being jerks to him. I mean, no matter what... Never be a jerk to someone who almost took his/her own life. No matter how much you dont like him. And I think that you shall be more sensitive to people like this.

If you read the comments on TIX official video though, you see comments like he is just a joke, and they call him all sort of names.....so for people to take him and his song and message seriously, he definately needed to tell his story and the message behind the song. When I first saw Tix and listened to his song, I wondered what kind of unusual artist he was and really wanted to see his face without glasses. After a while, I wanted to listen to this song again and again, somehow it attracted me, sunk into my soul. And so, I sit in the middle of the night with headphones, and I only listen to 2 songs, this is the Fallen Angel and the Dark Side by Blind Channel, and I cannot stop. But after I began to read his biography and learned that he summons to speak openly about mental disorders, it made me respect him. I know a lot of norwegians and other people are thinking that he won because of “sympathy” but i think he won because of his songwriting. He is a really good songwriter, and i know that a lot of his songs have helped teenagers, and other people. Because his texts are very deep and meaningful. I know a lot of people that voted for him because they thought he was the best this year. That he have used music to speak up about his mental health and his “problems” has helped a lot of other people. I think it’s great that he is showing young people with tourette’s that it is okay, and that there is someone you can talk to. He took something that was making him feel bad, and made it into something good, isn’t that a good thing?

That means each artist can potentially releases interviews, portrayals, making of or whatever to promote its entry. About TIX, I don't think that every year there are lots of contestants having disabilities. Putting some light on Tourette's syndrom and showing that a person, here an artist, can deal with it and manage to realize its dreams of performing on stage and competing in such a huge international event like Eurovision, is a good way to encourage people to focuse on their strength and go beyond their own limits.

Behind him is this sad story about Tourette syndrome and while everyone supported Salvador Sobral from Portugal in Eurovision song contest 2017, then now when you would need to do the same, you're judging Tix due that Keiino didn't win. @@edicarlos4704 You have misunderstood. Tix did not participate in Norway's national final to win, but to spread a message. He didn't even think he could win. Neither do I think the Norwegian people sent him because we thought he would win (if that was the case we would have sent KEiiNO). We sent him because he had a message that the world needed to hear. We sent him out to all those who were struggling out there, and who needed to see that it is possible to overcome the inner demons created by bullies. It is really sad to read your comments - maybe you are one of those bullies? You have no idea what this is about and assume that everyone is just out to win Eurovision. Some of us have realized that there are things more important than winning a music competition. And since we're already talking about winning or not winning Eurovision, you probably know that Norway didn't win this year either. But we did something better. Also this year, 2024, we shared a fantastic Norwegian artist with the world, and there are many who are grateful for that.

I really hated this song and this guy for no reason other than the fact that Keiino didn't win, but after giving this song some time, I really started to love it and now I know lyrics by heart. I got also invested into his personality and this video proves me that Norway couldn't have chosen a better person to represent. This is what we need. Love from Finland!
