Stacey Seedorf is a Dutch singer and songwriter, who’s active in the music scene for more than 30 years. He’s mostly known for his releases with Eurodance act Twenty 4 Seven, for which Stacey wrote most of the lyrics. Twenty 4 Seven sold over 20 million records worldwide and some of their most well known tracks are “Is It Love”, “Take Me Away”, “Keep On Trying” and of course the 1993 classic “Slave To The Music”. That one peaked within the Top 10 in at least 8 countries. Furthermore it was a number 1 hit in Zimbabwe and peaked at number 2 in Australia where it did also reach the Platinum status!
Because of the upcoming 30th anniversary of “Slave To The Music”, I recently sat down with Stacey, to ask him about the story behind this classic, but we also spoke about his State Of Mind Network and much more!
Enjoy and thanks for watching!

Keep on 'Tryin! Not the biggest hit because they already split, but to me in so many ways this was T4S best track! It also helped me when i changed work and the beginning was very difficult....

As a teen of the 90's and a big fan of Twenty 4 Seven, thank you for this interview with Stacey. His story is wonderful to hear, loved the images of the two young artists on tour. A positive and optimistic guy, it's sad to hear the original artists are not touch but it explains to some degree the two current acts. Favourite track? Paradise. Thank you Twan, have a good weekend!

Coming from England. I feel like the u.k charts largely ignored the eurodance scene except for the odd song- no limits, scatman-amongst only a few that made the charts to any success. I actually went over to Holland in 1994 and 1995 purely to buy eurodance CD’s😳🤣🤣 because you just couldn’t get them over here!! Twenty4seven we’re my original favourites-and I still listen to their songs now.

Thank you, Twan, for another great interview! As a Russian I'm though very proud of the Netherlands and Dutch people who've given so many musical talents to the world so far! And...I think that all of us are slaves to the music (no matter what style it is) as sometimes it simply makes us come alive, get up after falling and move on!✊😉

Awesome interview, thanx so much! Stay-C and Nance are my heroes from the youth. I grew up on their music. So sad that they don't perform together anymore. I've learned a lot from this interview, especially that Stay-C is so positive guy and he is spreading positive energy all around the world. That's awesome. Slave to the music is a great track, I love whole album. :)

What a cool and nice person Stacey is. I love how enthusiastically he talks about his carrier, made me happier while listening. :) I wonder if a video with some "still active / moved on to other styles" producers would make sense discussing if Eurodance was really a one of a kind period in music or it can make a come back in mainstream one day? I would be interested in such meta stuff here and there.

Thank you! And I only focus on classics / hits from the past in my interviews. Of course I do ask people what they’re up to these days and what their future plans are, but the main focus is always the story behind one of their classics. Hope this helps! I have some more Eurodance related interviews in the works for later this year / next year BTW! 😉

the third album had extremely bad marketing! it's unbelievable that they weren't chosen for singles tracks like ''Gimme More'' , ''Breakin' Up'' , ''You Gotta Be Safe'' & ''Keep On Tryin'' single with video clip 😏 anyway super interview again i like Stay-C & Twenty 4 Seven

I guess (not sure though!) there were alread some troubles in the group around the release of the album. Which is most likely the reason they only did 2 singles from the album and hardly and promotion or video clips etc. "Breaking Up" and "Gimme More" would have been 2 great singles for sure!! Glad you enjoyed the interview! Did you see my interview with Nance and Ruud van Rijen as well BTW?

Great to listen to Stay-C! Such a great guy! 20 4 7 didn't have success in France unfortunately apart maybe from Slave to the music and Take me away (minor successes), there was I guess very little promo unlike many other successful acts at the time here. Great interview, only thing missing for me is the question: "What are your fav 20 4 7 tracks?"! Thanks!

Az tény hogy a különböző retró bulikon se tolják túl magát a Twenty 7 Seven-t se, ezt a számot pláne nem. A videóklipjét meg most láttam először ahogy megnéztem ehhez a hozzászóláshoz.
