@rener44 This dude communicates with the skill of a box of crayons. What he’s attempting to say is that Chael pushes back against Evan venturing to the desert to find himself and says he was deeply abusing alcohol and posted this idea in a binge. So the poster is attempting to say that Joe mentioning the quest aspect of things is wrong and that it was simply something he did fueled by alcoholism. The actual cause of death was heat stroke but his gripe is Joe being wrong about the motivation of what he did and thus that he died of alcohol and not the desert since alcohol abuse was the root cause of his actions that resulted in his death. But it was a mix of things - he did perceive himself as a deep thinker and detailed out the idealistic view he had of his plan in his posts prior. But his thoughts were fueled by substance abuse and binges which Joe doesn’t bring up. Evan did think in these strange ways and did see himself as a deep thinker, which was fueled by his substance abuse and shouldn’t be glorified as heroism but rather should be framed by the influence the substance abuse played into it, so this is a major gripe that’s a tad silly because Joe didn’t dump on the dude and just spoke on his positives in this specific instance.
