In this video, we explore the profound story of a woman who came to the Prophet Muhammad (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) seeking guidance and justice in a deeply troubling situation. Her husband had uttered words that were not only hurtful but carried severe consequences. He declared, "From today, you are like my mother," a statement rooted in an archaic practice known as "Zehar" in pre-Islamic Arabian culture.
As the woman courageously shares her plight with the Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam), she expresses the injustice she faces, detailing her husband's mistreatment and the dilemma she encounters regarding their children. The Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam), initially lacking specific divine guidance on this matter, offers his personal opinion, stating that she becomes Haram for him, implying a severe strain on their marital relationship.
However, what unfolds is a remarkable exchange between the woman and the Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam), challenging common norms of the time. She boldly questions the absence of a clear divine decree and argues her case passionately. The video highlights the uniqueness of this situation where a person engages in a debate with the Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam), a rarity in the history of Islamic narrations.
The pivotal moment in this narrative occurs when Allah reveals four profound verses addressing the issue directly. These verses categorically reject the notion that a wife becomes akin to one's mother through such statements and condemn the use of such language as vile and unacceptable. Allah asserts the sanctity of motherhood and rebukes those who exploit this sacred bond for personal grievances.

Rifa’ah b. Rafi’ said: One day we were praying behind the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ). When the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) raised his head after bowing, he said: سَمِعَ اللَّهُ لِمَنْ حَمِدَهُ ‏ (Allah listened to him who praised Him). A man behind the Messenger of Allah(ﷺ) said: رَبَّنَا وَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ حَمْدًا كَثِيرًا طَيِّبًا مُبَارَكًا فِيهِ (O Allah, Our Lord, and to You be praise, much praise, good and blessed). When the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) finished his prayer, he asked: Which of you if the one who spoke (the words) just now. The man said: I (uttered) these words, Prophet (ﷺ) of Allah. The Messenger of Allah(ﷺ) said: I saw more than thirty angels racing against one another to be the one to write them first. Sunan Abi Dawud, 770

Sura: Al-Mujadila Page 542 Those of you who ˹sinfully˺ divorce their wives by comparing them to their mothers ˹should know that˺ their wives are in no way their mothers. None can be their mothers except those who gave birth to them. What they say is certainly detestable and false. Yet Allah is truly Ever-Pardoning, All-Forgiving. Those who divorce their wives in this manner, then ˹wish to˺ retract what they said, must free a slave before they touch each other. This ˹penalty˺ is meant to deter you. And Allah is All-Aware of what you do. But if the husband cannot afford this, let him then fast two consecutive months before the couple touch each other. But if he is unable ˹to fast˺, then let him feed sixty poor people. This is to re-affirm your faith in Allah and His Messenger. These are the limits set by Allah. And the disbelievers will suffer a painful punishment.

The problem is that neither one of them wanted a divorce but the wife was concerned about the status of their marriage. She wanted to make sure their marriage was still valid before continuing with their marital relations, so she went to the Prophet (pbuh) to present her problem. And Allah gave the answer which is for the husband to do the repentance but keep the marriage intact.

I didn’t understand, this guy said it like, that women was gonna get a very very big punishment for arguing with the prophet, and then he said the husband was wrong, and Allah told men to not disrespect their mother, so what happened to the women?, I don’t know what to feel after hearing this, I am lost, confused and very very confused and don’t know what just happened

Even though it's wrong to act disrespectfully to our Prophet Allah defended the woman and warned the man. Allah ordered men who commit this sin to free a slave or feed 10 poor families or fast for 60 days I believe. I will share the verse if I can...

Sura: Al-Mujadila Page 542 Indeed, Allah has heard the argument of the woman who pleaded with you ˹O Prophet˺ concerning her husband, and appealed to Allah. Allah has heard your exchange.1 Surely Allah is All-Hearing, All-Seeing Those of you who ˹sinfully˺ divorce their wives by comparing them to their mothers ˹should know that˺ their wives are in no way their mothers. None can be their mothers except those who gave birth to them. What they say is certainly detestable and false. Yet Allah is truly Ever-Pardoning, All-Forgiving. She debated with the prophet Mohammed saw back and forth which is wild since the prophet Mohammed saw's opinion was enough for people to change their farming techniques. Then Allah revealed 4 ayats, scolding the men who say that and that it makes no sense to say that

Allah revealed the ayas in the quran (I think the first ayas of surah mujadila) and she ended up donating on his behalf as recompense for his sin. I think the prophet saw helped her donate too

The way you can’t talk to the prophet in an overly friendly or a slightly aggressive way, else you lose all your good deeds, really seems to me like a personality cult…
@lunarsensitive1

It was a rule implemented by Allah to protect his messenger (pbuh) from abuse and to keep people humble. "Overly friendly" isn't really what this is about, but talking in such a way which might lead to him getting upset or irritated. You can't treat him like one of your bros that you joke around with and annoy on purpose. Being respectful to the prophet (pbuh) is the natural result of a people who are taught to be humble and to not be arrogant. And anyway, it would be the same kind of conduct you would show in the presence of a king, and even more, you would be expected to bow in front of a king, but no one would bow in front of the prophet (pbuh).
