Description: This is an exploration of the greatest discoveries in cosmology, the great scientists and astronomers behind them, and the still unresolved mysteries of the Universe at the most extreme scales of time, gravity, and distance across the deepest space.

This is part of a larger script I wrote for the James Webb Space Telescope: • (Documentary) The Jame...
The Big Bang, Dark Matter, the Cosmic Microwave Background, Cosmic Web Filaments, the End of Greatness, Inflation, Dark Energy, and there's still so many questions about the nature of our Universe.
Tonight we learn what the current lambda cold dark matter big bang model of the universe says happened from the first few seconds to the first few million years after the universe was thought have come into existence.
We learn what older cosmological theories evolved into and how our conception of light, matter and energy has changed over that last few centuries as our understanding of them has deepened.
We learn what the biggest mysteries of physics and cosmology still are and about the huge gaps in our understanding of the cosmic dark ages, the dark matter halos around nearly all galaxies, and how the still-mysterious phenomena of the big bang, inflation, and dark energy is propelling galaxies apart.
Thanks so much for watching. Let me know what you thought. -Rich

There is something about your Voice when you speak calmly and softly, it just makes me feel right at home. Like when I used to listen to my father reading bedtime stories - almost 20 years have gone and passed since then but still you bring this kind of feeling... Like when you fell asleep in your parents car after a long day, you wake up "on that final turn" right before getting home, pretending you still slept and your parents carry you home-to-bed-feeling

ASMR is the only type of video where the highest compliment i can give you is that i am never able to finish your videos because i fall asleep so quickly 😭I love your videos, your calm speaking voice is very comforting 🌱 i feel that listening to whispering for a long period of time can be a little too strenuous. Sadly, i get a little too much anxiety whenever learning about the universe, its just the infinity of time that freaks me out, we are here on this earth for less than a blink, its too much for my tiny human mind to comprehend. Would you maybe consider doing some videos about talking about philosophers or different philosophical viewpoints on things? Or maybe a video about the pyramids? I dont know, its hard to find topics that are interesting without being somewhat existential 😅

@@LetsFindOut1 Thank you for your reply! I just wanted to write back to you and show more appreciation for the videos, because i feel like i didn't put enough emphasis on that :) We are all so grateful for the videos and the way they are made is perfection (the script is there but you're talking naturally about the topic which is very engaging, the lighting, the calm tone, the pace, the background, the pictures here and there). Its amazing that we have people on youtube who are true creators like yourself. Ever since my comment i decided to try to listen to your videos more as podcasts during the day, instead of when im falling asleep, and it was the best decision ever. Im able to listen more attentively obviously, and when i listen to the videos while cleaning and going for walks time just passes effortlessly and i feel twice as productive :)). And definitely liking the normal calm voice over the original more "whisper-ish/tapping" earlier versions. Of course that's just my personal preference but thought I'd mention. You should be so proud of the content (and topics) and the impact it has on people educationally, inspirationally and mental health/sleep wise. Tangible impact on thousands if not millions of lives. my boyfriend loves very fact heavy, scripted, fast paced, space videos that go over your head in small amounts of time. It's nice having a slower video without too much math and existential dread, that lets your thoughts wander in and out with the simpler vocabulary. I like how you occasional trip over your words, and pause to think, like a real person recalling what they know about space while wandering through topics. It's more conversational easy listening.

This is absolutely extraordinary work my friend. I remember thinking when I was watching your previous video on the JWST that it was a masterpiece. And it was. But this incredible creation? There are no words strong enough. You have truly outdone yourself. Everything is perfection here: the narrative, production values, visuals, editing, etc. And all of this is on top of the tremendous amount of research and preparation that would be required for a project of this magnitude. This is one of the finest videos that I have ever seen on the topic of cosmology. Not just on KZbin, but anywhere. Yes. It really is that good. And then their is your voice. I can say without hesitation that you have one of the finest voices that I have ever heard. Not just on KZbin. Anywhere. And I teach voice, voice acting and acting. I also want to express my deepest gratitude to you for exploring this specific topic in particular. Even though I work in the arts, I have always had a great passion for the sciences. And I have a particular fascination with cosmology. When I watch/listen to phenomenal work such as this, I am always left with these incredible feelings of wonder and awe about this mysterious universe that we inhabit. I hope that you will continue to create beautiful and informative and inspiring works of art such as this one. You have a very real gift for this my friend. And I wanted you to know beyond a shadow of a doubt that all of your efforts paid off big time. The results were nothing short of miraculous, and absolutely extraordinary. I really DO want to offer you very strong encouragement, because what you are doing here is immensely important. Your work touches the lives of literally millions of people. That’s millions and millions of people whom you are educating and edifying on these phenomenally important and awe inspiring topics such as cosmology and astronomy and biology and mathematics and all of the other amazing topics that you explore. So what you are doing here is immensely important. Just a few moments ago I read a comment from one of your followers that I really liked and I would very much like to add my voice to. And that is that you are a really great teacher. This is so true, and it’s why all of these videos are so successful. You have become a teacher and an educator who is sharing his knowledge with countless viewers who may have never been exposed to these topics if it were not for you. And perhaps I am a bit biased as a fellow teacher, but I see this as such an extraordinarily important mission. My hope is that you will embrace that mission, in whatever way works best for you. You have the opportunity to impact so many lives for the better. Be well my friend. 🙏

This is very high production values. Do you do this all by yourself? Where do you find all the quality visual assets? Do you collect them over time and catalog them? Or just linearly tackle finding and processing the imagery per topic, front to back of the video? You could make a great ASMR video just describing your production workflow. Seriously. And... Tiss a funny thing....in the past 6 months I have been watching a lot of physics lectures. I always loved science in High School I took chemistry, biology, but intentionally skipped physics ( I know stupid ). In college took Biology, Chemistry, Meterology, Botany, Trigonometry, Calculus, Botany...again avoiding Physics....grrrr. It took me till a few decades ago that it dawned on me that physics is the answer behind everything! So playing catch up now! I loved watching Cosmos, watched it every week! I am glad you have the book. I asked for it as a birthday gift one year but Dad could not find it and got me his next book. I still have it. I need to read it now, so many years later! So I have been listening to science lectures at night but like others fall asleep, but sometimes during the day will go back and re listen to videos. You have done such a great job with this video. I just found you last evening looking for info on dark matter. Dr. James Beacham states dark matter moves through us and we don’t ever know it, wonder what you think of that? I will definitely look at your other videos too! Keep up the stellar work! Also thank you very much!

Hey man, I don't exactly know how this would work, but if I could write out the closed captioning for all of your videos I would. Most ASMR I just fall asleep with, but this is so fascinating and you are great at making your videos true learning tools. I want that to be more accessible. As someone who is hard of hearing but loves soft spoken as well as absorbing all this amazing information, closed captions would be a real game changer in terms of truly understanding your videos and being able to follow along more accurately. I know it's tedious work, and you obviously already put in a tremendous amount of effort with filming and editing these videos, and I wouldn't mind watching every single one of them over and over, soooooo if you want a closed caption scribe and are willing to pay a meager amount to a lowly twentysomething artist who loves your work and could use just a little cash for the time used, hit me up. It would be an absolute pleasure to type everything you say and really commit the facts to memory.

I remember when you could just type up captions for a video and they appeared if the creator approved of em… but hell, kudos for the confidence, monsieur phoenix!

I recently bought my first house and played all your videos while I painted the rooms and did some minor repair over the course of two months before fully moving in. Your videos are the best and are now forever part of my memory of my new home. I was born and raised in Hawaii but moved away. This video is so fitting for me to finally have made a comment with a Hawaiian name given to the super cluster. Thank you.

I was so happy to see the intro video that starts with the subatomic and zooming out. I saw that when I was a child in about 1972 on a field trip to the Chicago Museum of Science & Industry. Made a huge impression in me, invoking sense of AWE and undoubtedly one of the things that influenced my career choices in the sciences. So fun to see it again, thank you! I look forward to seeing the rest.
