Hello everyone, I’m Ruth Hunduma, the director of The Medallion, a film I made about my mother’s experience during the Red Terror Genocide in the 70s. I wanted to highlight how selective solidarity in the media has almost wiped many tragic events, whether historical or present, from our conscience, and encourage further discourse and attention towards worldly conflicts in nations not of our own. I’m here to answer some questions over the next few days. Thank you for watching. Enjoy the film.

Her mother's point about the world not extending the same care to African peoples as others around the globe was a very powerful point. Thank you for this, beautifully produced video

Finally!!!! 🙌🏾 so many ppl have no clue about the terroir that took the lives of millions!!! Mengesgu was never held accountable for the death of millions. Hid out in Zimbabwe and now his daughter is pleading for him to return to Ethiopia before he dies. I don’t know a single Ethiopian not impacted by this terror. Thank you for shining a light on this
