Solid Gold and Dance Fever. Dance Fever aired on early Saturday evenings if I recall correctly. I remember watching while the sun was going down, excited for what was to come on Saturday night tv. No, not that Saturday Night show, but shows like that horror show that came on around 11 (it starred a woman with the most amazing head of red hair to ever grace television waves. My preteen self thought she was absolutely stunning. I think I wished everyday to be as beautiful as her one day)

I was an as-yet-unadopted autistic kid when this show aired, and other kids (and some adults) would tease me that the trash heap was my birth mother, but i always found it interesting that she was the smart one with the answers. I grew up to embrace my garbagey upbringing and called myself Dame Detritus and attempted to fill my brain with knowledge, languages, experiences that would bring me that same comfort. People didn't need to like me for me to be intelligent or accomplished, and i found a lot of strength in identity from the trash heap character, honestly. Jim Henson is a lifelong hero for many reasons.
