Ah yes, Rhodes Island, a place for mercenaries and almost every person who has forsaken their country and previous ideology joined under the guidance of Big B...., sorry, I meant under the guidance of the Doctor and Amiya. Am I the only one who find kinda weird the similarities between MSF and Rhodes Island? And if we also take the example that both places needed some kind of deterrant against other nations (MSF with their Metal Gear armed with a Nuke while Rhodes having literal deities) it's even harder not to compare these two fictional organizations.

The thing is MSF soldiers are all those saved by Big Boss ( i hope we talking about MGS5 in this topic) But Doctor case is different pretty much Rhodes island is pretty much faction on its own,they have own faction characters,there ARE some characters from other faction who did leave and join Rhodes Island,but most characters do work in Rhodes Island as their contract job,they respect Doctor,but thats pretty much it

@@skell6134 Nope, when I refer to mother base as MSF I meant it before MGSV or GZ. At least from my perspective, MSF in Peace Walker really had a peaceful year (if we're not counting the whole pw incident). MSF was the home of many soldiers from different nations all across the world and if you listen to the tapes, most of the characters genuinly had a peaceful and more normal life while on mother base. And to me rhodes is kinda like that, we rescue a lot of people like GG, flatinum, Gravel, etc. The ones who end up here most of the time have a really peaceful time after leaving their nations behind or being rescued.

@@skell6134 Yep, even with the whole finding job for the new recruits in things like intel, medical staff, etc it's almost the same. Plus since both groups have a paramilitary force with exceptional members, (rhodes E.O. while in MSF there were a handful of highly skilled fighters like Amanda and Kaz) the similarities just grow even further.

Big Boss aimed to create a heaven for soldiers like him, a place where they can feel they belong to and fight the wars they want, but got twisted over time after he chose to not be like The Boss to accomplish his goals and became one of the big factors that led the world to be like it was in MGS4. Rhode Island meanwhile share the vision of using their skills and talents to help those around them in their time of need, especially the victimized Infected. And with the Doctor and Kal'tsit, their actions could help shape the world in small, but meaningful ways for the better
