United for Human Rights (UHR) is an international, not-for-profit organization dedicated to implementing the Universal Declaration of Human Rights at local, regional, national and international levels. Its membership is comprised of individuals, educators and groups throughout the world who are actively forwarding the knowledge and protection of human rights by and for all Mankind.
Its purpose is to provide human rights educational resources and activities that inform, assist and unite individuals, educators, organizations and governmental bodies in the dissemination and adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights at every level of society.
United for Human Rights was founded on the Declaration's 60th anniversary, in the face of continued worldwide abuses which violate the spirit, intent and Articles of this charter of all human rights, the first such document ever ratified by the community of nations. Surveys have found that most people have only a limited understanding of human rights. The Declaration contains the thirty rights that together form the basis of a civilization wherein all people can enjoy the freedoms to which they are entitled, and nations can coexist in peace.

The story of human rights is a profound journey that reflects humanity's ongoing struggle for dignity, freedom, and justice. Human rights, in their modern form, are a relatively recent concept that emerged from centuries of conflict, inequality, and social movements. The roots of the idea can be traced back to ancient civilizations, where notions of justice and legal rights were recognized, but the universal application of human rights as we know it today began to take shape in the Enlightenment era. The Enlightenment brought a wave of philosophical thinking that emphasized individual liberty, equality, and the inalienable rights of humans. Thinkers like John Locke, Jean-Jacques Rousseau, and Voltaire laid the groundwork for the belief that certain rights should be inherent to all people by virtue of their humanity, not dependent on the state or any institution. These ideas gained traction during the American and French Revolutions, which asserted that people were entitled to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, as well as equal protection under the law. The 20th century marked a significant turning point for human rights with the aftermath of World War II. The atrocities committed during the war underscored the need for a global standard to protect individuals from oppression and violence. This led to the creation of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) in 1948, adopted by the United Nations General Assembly. The UDHR set a comprehensive benchmark for the protection of civil, political, economic, social, and cultural rights, establishing a universal standard against which nations and leaders could be held accountable. Since then, the story of human rights has evolved, facing various challenges and setbacks. Rights that were once considered revolutionary, such as gender equality, freedom of speech, and anti-discrimination laws, have become mainstream in many societies, but implementation and adherence vary widely across the globe. In some regions, the struggle for human rights continues, with activists facing threats, censorship, and persecution. Issues like climate change, migration, economic disparity, and racial injustice have become integral parts of the human rights discourse, highlighting the need to address these interconnected challenges for genuine progress. The story of human rights is also the story of resilience and activism. From the civil rights movements of the mid-20th century to the fight for indigenous rights, and refugee rights, people have consistently pushed back against discrimination and injustice, demanding recognition, dignity, and equality. The digital age has further transformed the human rights landscape, giving activists tools for global mobilization and raising awareness on issues that may have otherwise gone unnoticed. However, despite these advances, human rights are still under threat in many parts of the world. Authoritarian regimes, conflicts, economic inequalities, and systemic discrimination continue to violate the basic rights of individuals. The COVID-19 pandemic, for instance, has underscored the vulnerabilities in healthcare systems, the rise of surveillance, and the infringement on privacy and freedom of movement. It has also brought to light the disparity in access to health resources between countries and communities, emphasizing that the fight for human rights is far from over. In conclusion, the story of human rights is one of progress, setbacks, and resilience. It is a reminder that while significant strides have been made, the protection and expansion of these rights are ongoing efforts that require global cooperation, advocacy, and vigilance. The true measure of the strength of human rights lies in our collective commitment to uphold them, ensuring that all individuals, regardless of background or circumstances, are treated with dignity, fairness, and respect.

Here are your human rights in case you are wondering.1. We Are All Born Free & Equal. We are all born free. We all have our own thoughts and ideas. We should all be treated in the same way.2. Don’t Discriminate. These rights belong to everybody, whatever our differences.3. The Right to Life. We all have the right to life, and to live in freedom and safety. 4. No Slavery. Nobody has any right to make us a slave. We cannot make anyone our slave. 5. No Torture. Nobody has any right to hurt us or to torture us. 6. You Have Rights No Matter Where You Go. I am a person just like you! 7. We’re All Equal Before the Law. The law is the same for everyone. It must treat us all fairly. 8. Your Human Rights Are Protected by Law. We can all ask for the law to help us when we are not treated fairly. 9. No Unfair Detainment. Nobody has the right to put us in prison without good reason and keep us there, or to send us away from our country. 10. The Right to Trial. If we are put on trial this should be in public. The people who try us should not let anyone tell them what to do. 11. We’re Always Innocent Till Proven Guilty. Nobody should be blamed for doing something until it is proven. When people say we did a bad thing we have the right to show it is not true. 12. The Right to Privacy. Nobody should try to harm our good name. Nobody has the right to come into our home, open our letters, or bother us or our family without a good reason. 13. Freedom to Move. We all have the right to go where we want in our own country and to travel as we wish. 14. The Right to Seek a Safe Place to Live. If we are frightened of being badly treated in our own country, we all have the right to run away to another country to be safe. 15. Right to a Nationality. We all have the right to belong to a country. 16. Marriage and Family. Every grown-up has the right to marry and have a family if they want to. Men and women have the same rights when they are married, and when they are separated.17. The Right to Your Own Things. Everyone has the right to own things or share them. Nobody should take our things from us without a good reason.18. Freedom of Thought. We all have the right to believe in what we want to believe, to have a religion, or to change it if we want. 19. Freedom of Expression. We all have the right to make up our own minds, to think what we like, to say what we think, and to share our ideas with other people. 20. The Right to Public Assembly. We all have the right to meet our friends and to work together in peace to defend our rights. Nobody can make us join a group if we don’t want to.21. The Right to Democracy. We all have the right to take part in the government of our country. Every grown-up should be allowed to choose their own leaders. 22. Social Security. We all have the right to affordable housing, medicine, education, and childcare, enough money to live on and medical help if we are ill or old. 23. Workers’ Rights. Every grown-up has the right to do a job, to a fair wage for their work, and to join a trade union. 24. The Right to Play. We all have the right to rest from work and to relax. 25. Food and Shelter for All. We all have the right to a good life. Mothers and children, people who are old, unemployed or disabled, and all people have the right to be cared for. 26. The Right to Education. Education is a right. Primary school should be free. We should learn about the United Nations and how to get on with others. Our parents can choose what we learn. 27. Copyright. Copyright is a special law that protects one’s own artistic creations and writings; others cannot make copies without permission. We all have the right to our own way of life and to enjoy the good things that art, science and learning bring. 28. A Fair and Free World. There must be proper order so we can all enjoy rights and freedoms in our own country and all over the world. 29. Responsibility. We have a duty to other people, and we should protect their rights and freedoms. 30. No One Can Take Away Your Human Rights

The best tool for life is to understand that accepting God's will and plan for your life offers peace and destiny. We were all out on this earth for something meaningful not just to make money, buy homes and cars but to help others and love one another. Human rights are God given rights. Whatever you are encountering call upon the mighty name of Yeshua (Jesus Christ) and ask God for help!

I would sincerely like to thank the person who made this video for acknowledging Cyrus the Great who was a PERSIAN/IRANIAN whom established the first human rights, I get so angry how this is never mentioned, for instance anywhere you ask about human rights and its first establishment they say "oh yeah human rights, like the MAGNA CARTER by King JOHN of England" who was the first to establish human rights, and yes of course its always England, because no where in the books will they EVER come out and say the good values and attributes the middle east and other countries brought to the world. we are just labelled as the idiots in the books and media. Again THANK YOU very much !!!

Human rights is a big point in my new song You Can SMC because we keep on buying things that we don't really need that was produced in a country where the leaders dictate disbelief that it is okay to underpay people just because they earn less in their country, and with the average salary barley survive. Only the consumers can really stand up and start a revolution to stop the madness.

Cyrus the Great was a conqueror, not a human rights advocate. Moses was the human rights advocate in history that came first.

This is the most simple educative video I've ever watched. So clear, to the point and fun to watch. Well until it got a little emotional at the end. Great content.

It's great to advocate and attribute natural rights to the French, but just remember their Revolution did little to actually promote the UN's human rights of today (freedom of religion, for example)

I honestly loved this video. Way better than other's that I have seen. This had my full attention. It was very interesting and had some powerful statements in it. This video did well on hooking their audience. Other's, that I have seen, don't. The model's to this made it even better. Well done, I have to say.

We have to pass it on, because our human rights are still in danger. Since 2007 percentage of free countries has gone down from 55 to 45% (source: FreedomHouse), which also means that the unfree ones have become that much stronger. Here "unfree" means hurman rights not respected.

Well they skipped over critical parts of history, credited the wrong people, and seemed to be deliberate in doing so. Why? Because today we change history to vilify Europeans and especially Christians.

"it still took a bunch of British rebels declaring their indepdendence before the king got the point that all men are created equal." you, uh.. realise that the USA quite literally had slaves for nearly a 100 years.... the irony here.
