Last Sunday Tessa & Lousje sat on the couch and reminisced about how their European roots and creative childhoods led them to be clothing designers - today however, is all about how the Lousje & Bean boutique began. From family filled fashion shows to their first years on James St., it's been a whirlwind from the start.

Lousje & Bean is a clothing boutique and studio located in St. Catharines. Mother and daughter duo Lousje and Tessa Oort dreamed of creating a space where fresh style met essential comfort. The boutique features their own unique collection as well as other distinctive Canadian & European Made Clothing & Accessories.
Striving to create distinctive styles for the confident women who value quality and exclusivity. All of their limited seasonal collections are exclusively sketched, cut and stitched proudly in Toronto, Canada, with fabrics that are meticulously chosen to provide a high-quality look and feel.

More than a decade as a Lousje and Bean devotee! I discovered you at a Canada Blooms show in Toronto ages ago. "Only you can go to a flower show and come away with $400 worth of designer clothing" said my friends. I have fab pieces from that show that I still wear, including a light weight tunic top in a fabric printed with fashion magazine covers in black and white. Still receives lots of compliments.

I found you on line after I snagged a lovely vest type jacket with polka dots ( I think) at a consignment store. I googled the label and then became obsessed with your fashions. Then came the videos and that was me hooked. I also believe that I purchased a couple of items at Lousje's little shop in Port Dalhousie, as I lived on Lakeshore Road -( many years ago) . What a journey you have had. And it's great that we get to go with you as you continue on, hopefully for many years to come. Now that you're renovations are complete I must try and get to St. Catharines to visit, and shop, in person. Wishing you continued success.

This brought back some happy memories for me. I used to go every year to the One of a Kind show in Toronto. Sadly she passed away in 2008 and I didn’t go again until last year. I recently went through my closet and recycled my first L& B item which had somehow shrunk over the years 😂. I realize now that it was purchased in 2006 or 2007 making me one of your first customers! I remember the young saleswoman who helped me try on was an attractive young woman with an accent. I’m thinking that was Lousje! Thank you so much for your video today.
