I am so glad that Mackinac Island allows no cars! Only bicycles and horses! Now that is my kind of place! Esther's Follies in Austin, Texas was named after Esther Williams

Angie Wagner , Cool Beans!! I played basketball against the Mackinac Island Lakers when I was in junior high and high school. I made friends with several boy and girl Mackinac Islanders during my school days. I tend to see Mackinac Island from a different window than a good portion of the world’s population. To me Mackinac Island is a place where I made friends during my basketball days.

I went there last Summer! When I was in school, I attended Whitefish Township School in Paradise, Michigan. My school WTS played basketball against Mackinac Island Public Schools. We went to Mackinac Island to compete against the Lakers on early December Fridays and Saturdays. Since Star Line Ferry stopped running after a certain point, we spent the night at MIPS. After the games, we participated in dances with the MIPS students. We had good times on the Island. On the basketball court, I was out for blood. Off the court I was friends with several of the Mackinac Islanders.

I still remember went to that island a couple times in my youth back in the early 2000’s. Until this coming June, I’m visiting the Island once again. It’s been 15 years since the last time I visited that island.

So this is Michigan’s version of Catalina?
@ronaldcross2 жыл бұрын
It's a far better place than Catalina. More history, more beauty. I'll be going again next week (to Mackinac Is.). Probably been there 15 or more times in my life. There are many videos on YT, it's an incredible place.

Mackinac Island has become overcrowded and caters to the rich and politicians, they have built in areas all over the island that should have stayed natural....its not what it used to be just like Niagara falls!

I hate when people say Mackinac like Mac in ack and I’m not even living in Michigan

I wonder if they allow electric bicycles?
@abbyyats45124 жыл бұрын
George Martin You have to have a special percent to own a electric bicycle... If you do not follow those rules they will take your bike.
