What an interesting story of Lee Jung-Seob! I didn't know that the white bull represented Korean people during the colonial period. Very informative and easy-to-understand video.

Very informative and interesting video! I appreciate how well constructed it is and easy to understand. I wish I was able to watch this video when I took past Korean courses especially in regards to identity and culture. I've taken many Asian courses, but never received so much information about the importance of animals and their symbols until this lecture. This lecture truly helps us viewer see a glimpse of past historical moments and the power of artists!

I always knew the bull represented important things in many cultures so it was really cool to learn what the bull symbolizes for the Korean people! It’s understandable why Lee Jung-Seob’s art became so iconic.

I really enjoyed the video, I wasn't aware how much meaning the bulls had in Korea and how important of an animal they were to everyday Koreans.

I did not know that bulls were so important in Korean culture, I know that they are important in Chinese culture, for the ox or bull you so called they are part of the 12 zodiac animal. In this short video I had learned so much about Lee Jung, and his art work, to be honest when I first saw his art I did not get the meaning, but after watching the video, I get that his bull painting are very personal to him. And each of the bull paying represent what he is going through life. It was great video that explain’s very well of the modern Korean art.

The significance of the Bulls really stood out to me. I believe to be a symbol of strength. It is also seen a symbol of resilience. That is why it is a great symbol for Lee Jung-Seob to use in his art. -Lynette Lanh
