They wouldn't have made it past their planet without outside help in the technological category. They were a species made for and focused everything on fighting, when frieza called them monkey's he sincerely meant that. One could argue someone like Broly with immense power could shield himself to travel to other planets over extended periods of time, but the only way saiyans could leave the planet besides outside technology or the tuffles they hadn't already eradicated, they'd need magic, instant transmission, or another outside source such as divine power like the other world entities. Otherwise, they truly were a bunch of apes throwing shit at eachother.
