Thank God there are people like Wallenberg who know right from wrong and are willing to act on that knowledge. RIP

Not only did he recognize right from wrong, he has the courage to put his own life at risk to help others.

A man who put his safety above others, that is incredibly heroic. Such atrocities, the worst of human nature and then Wallenberg….. such heroism from one single human being. We all know the name Oscar Schindler…please let us take a moment for this man, Raoul Wallenberg and the countless others who also put their lives on the line to help and save many people and subsequently create many more human lives. I applaud your sir

In memory also of his driver, Wilmos Langfelder who also disappeared with Raoul and was declared dead from a heart attack, despite, like Raoul being in his 30s

There's something to be said about the way to beat the Germans was by out-bureaucratize them by the power of manipulating paperwork. Some of the greatest unsung heroes in the world are administrators.

He could have survived longer than 1947. I wouldn’t believe the Soviets. People disappeared into the Gulags and there’s no way to know. Only survivors tell about what it was like- awful.

Because the Russians were just as bad as the Germans. The Goulags were also just concentration camps. What do you think happened to the gay concentration camp prisoners who were liberated by the Russians?

@williestyle35
@williestyle35 Жыл бұрын
His family had enough money. He earned his own money as a stock and commodities trader. Wallenberg was said to have used some of his money for the safe houses that were used and he did the diplomatic work to save Hungarian Jews.

@unclejoeoakland

@@Imissyoulou well, you have to reckon on a few things. For one, there was something of an anti semitic streak in the Soviet leadership, which coupled with and indeed had a lot of overlap with, a suspicion of zionism and zionists. When we also remember that Stalin was deeply paranoid about any sort of political disloyalty, we may speculate that Wallenberg was suspected of being a spy for the swedes or even the zionist movement. I know its a stretch but its hard making sense out of nonsense, gimme a break.

The Soviet Union was only marginally less awful than Nazi Germany. That's why.
@mirzamay

Stalin was no hero to human life, he executed his own soldiers that were captured. Before they fought the Germans they first joined them, and only switched sides when Hitler betrayed Russia. There's a lot of blood on the hands of a lot of leaders throughout history. What makes Hitler so much worse than them is the brutality and organization of his genocide and the aggression he used taking it forceably into other countries.

Raoul Wallenberg was arrested in Budapest 17th of january 1945 by the red army on accusations of espionage and disappeared, he hasnt been seen since. The soviets said he was executed in Lubjanka the 17th of july 1947.

Christ compels us to love one another, if we have no love for each other, even for those who don't share our faith, we are not real followers of Jesus Christ, for He said: "This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?" (John 15:12-13 and Matthew 16:25- 26)
