I have a very sincere question. This is not out of contention, but complete sobriety and with as much brotherly love and concern as can be mustered up, this is my question… if God really wanted the gentiles to call him Yeshua why would he have allowed the translators, who we believe were moved by the Holy Ghost, as all holy men of God, of all ages were, why didn’t God not even one time lead the translators to put something other than Jesus in any version in any language of the gentiles? Are you telling me that God, since his written revelation has been completed for over 430 years in multiple languages all of a sudden is revealing the name he prefers? Please help me with this.

There are translations that use Yeshua, just for that reason… it’s been very well understood for a very long time that is the name He went by… The name Yeshua was in the Old Testament for hundreds of years before He came. The idea that this is new information is, well… just false to put it kindly. The name Yeshua has never changed, it’s only been translated into countless languages. Jesus is Yeshua and vice versa…

I’m not sure exactly what you’re looking for with your questions, they seem to be prying at why the name Jesus is so popular versus Yeshua. The shortest answer? There are 8,000,000,000 people in the world and 10,000,000 speak Hebrew. Thats 0.1 percent of the population. It only makes sense mathematically speaking, yes? As for the other historical and linguistic matters, no offense, but to become a linguist it takes a ton of time and brainpower. I highly recommend doing the research as there’s tons to learn, but I also started learning numerous foreign languages at a very young age. My point is it’s a lot of work just to hash out this topic: I couldn’t explain it all here nor do I have that kind of time. God bless.

@ Well your premise is wrong…First off the salvation being afforded is to the GENTILES is in the name of Jesus. Unless God, who is the author of all languages somehow failed to protect the church from verses like Philippians 2:1-13 I don’t believe God allowed this slip through his linguistic providence. It is literally not consistent with God who does not change and is the same(Hebrews 13:8-9). On a side note have you ever heard someone curse the name of Yeshua? It doesn’t matter what country or dialect it is always the name of Jesus Christ that is blasphemed. Also your reasoning is not consistent with what scriptures teach in that of itself: 1 Corinthians 1:18-31… not many wise, not the wisdom of this world, but also childlike faith…2 Timothy 3:13-17. What is missing from your logic is: child like faith, the scriptures which make you wise unto salvation, and most importantly the ministry of the Holy Ghost. There is no reason other than God trying to confuse his children to entertain this logic. This is also spoken against in 1 Corinthians 14:26-40. So I may not know English or linguistics but I do know God is faithful and not willing that any should perish. Jesus is the way the truth and the life.

Isaiah 53 is the greatest proof of Jesus as the Christ/Messiah in the Old Testament. The whole chapter is about Jesus, his life, what he came to do, and many other prophecies. In Acts, the Ethiopian eunuch was saved by reading and being taught this chapter. The Gospel is clearly described in this chapter. I would also read Psalm 22. It is all about Jesus. Again the crucifixion of Christ is clearly discernable in this chapter. In Daniel 9, it states that Messiah would be "cut off" after 69 weeks or 483 years. Cut off means to kill in this context. Then it says "not for himself." Jesus died for you and me. For our sins. The 483 years ended around 30-33AD. There is one week of years left and you can find that week in Matthew 24, Mark 13, Luke 21, and Revelation 6-19. Repent (admit you are a sinner) and trust the Gospel (death, burial, and resurrection of Christ-1 Cor. 15:1-4) and you will be saved. God bless.
