With Set 12 Magic and Mayhem and Arcane Season 2 just around the corner and the inevitable leaks that will come with it, it's a good time to take a retroactive look at the Set that truly changed TFT, Set 6.
Without the dedication of Mortdog and the Riot team as well as the consistent push of content from the names like K3Soju, Kiyoon etc, Teamfight Tactics would've probably died a slow death, but they managed to pull it out of the bag and give us one of the greatest sets of all time. With the inclusion of a Fortune variant, Mercenary, as well as Veigar as a Yordle Lord, and of course, all of the Arcane Season One fan favourites.
Music used:
Bouncy beanstalk Walk - Yoshi Island OST
OSRS Duel Arena
Peach Beach
Athletic Island Yoshi OST
Shed A Tear - Alex Maragakis (find his music here open.spotify.c...)

a common mistake is not watching my video all the way through ;) but whether you're a beginner or a challenger, we can all learn something here, because learning old sets is a small guide to success

*Innovator was not actually removed in 6.5, but either way it was still a disaster of a set Just wanted to say sorry for the lack of videos, I had real life stuff to sort out, like Visas(I'm now a resident of Brasil!) as well as job searching and a WHOLE load of other stuff(I'm not a KZbinr, and it's just me doing this, this is just passion project for me) if you want any Set next, please, leave a COMMENT or a LIKE, especially telling me what you want to see. Anyway, Thank you for watching.

Set 6 augments were a fresh addition to the game. Over the years, riot have added hidden rules like only being able to get one emblem of a trait. Which is the correct decision, but not as fun. My best game was playing 6 yordle and hitting 6 chemtech emblems. 9 Chemtech and Yordles on steroids.

@@hyperjank5129 When you take an emblem from a gold augment, you can't then be offered that same emblem from a prismatic augment. But this isn't affected by emblems on wandering trainer or the random emblem from branching out. Also spatulas help reach the 10 piece traits.

yeah i enjoyed set 6 a lot, but even if it was the most balanced, it was so incredibly boring to me for the last month, and that happens with every set, but i felt it so much more on set 6 for some reason. Thing was everyone was just playing the 3 same comps every game, like i feel is happening now in set 11 with everyone going lux janna amumu reroll, or bard, or reapers. I don't mean these are the only 3 viable comps but again, for some reason, everyone plays them idk great video tho

people will always gravitate to comps they have a strong connection to or have simplistic play patterns, so Bard, Lux and Reapers are largely easy to execute while having strong fantasies and huge dopamine spikes, so people like them a LOT. It's always been this way

Maybe i'm an outlier, but i hate playing games for fun, I play games with the intent to improve and become better, reach the highest levels and compete. The niche thing about TFT is that the mechanics are pretty straight forward, you don't need much time to catch up to people that have been playing for years and years, at the end of the day, RNG can outscale skill expression in this game, so it's not like league where a korean challanger ezreal with scripts will beat a diamond adc player 120% of times, whereas in tft, you have someone like soju getting absolutely dumpstered and going 8th place in diamond lobbies because he got fcked by rng. That's why i don't really feel enjoyment in playing tft itself, like playing double-up with friends is boring, and i see it as meaningless, whereas sweating balls and having a million things go through your mind at the same time while scouting 7 boards in 20 seconds to make decisions in ranked to see +lp is for some reason just hitting that spot for me. Set 6 was the last set that i enjoyed the game being the game, since then, the only thing that i was focusing on was min-maxing boards. I realized that i don't care about the trivial side of this game when i turned off music in set 10 because i felt it was distracting me, Riot poured so much money into making that amazing soundtrack for that set, and i really just pressed a button and forgot about it.

I dunno man, doesn't that feel bad? Only playing games to compete rather than to enjoy it? I mean I love to play TFT and I would love to compete but I would never just play for the sake of trying to compete, I get wayyyyy to burnt out by the end of the set. Wouldn't you think playing a different game would be better? If not for your mental health? Life is too short to do something you don't enjoy

@@NomsyTFT As somebody that has a... *similar* mindset, though definitely not fucking r/im14andthisisdeep, allow me to try explaining. For me, I synonymize "Fun" with "Challenge." I don't know how to "Relax" and play games; everything's gotta be optimized. And games where you have a higher level of skill expression lets you crystallize that challenge (or, more specifically, the effort it took to get there) into a tangible result (i.e. winning, in a best-case scenario). Games that rely on luck, by definition, remove some level of skill expression because it's possible that one bad roll can ruin your efforts, or a good one can turn around a game you *should've* lost. And don't get me wrong, I love my fair share of flicks of the dice, but given the option, I'd probably lean into something where my years of practice can show itself. Another thing that I find Fun is Competition, though that shouldn't be confused with trying to Compete. The feeling of beating your opponents is a good feeling for a lot of people, myself included, and the thought that "oh hey, the guy on the other side of the screen isn't just a mindless AI, it's an actual other person in the same situation I am"... Not to sound like an edgelord or anything, but that's a really REALLY good feeling. To be clear, I 100% agree with your latter statement: Life is WAY too short to dedicate extended periods of time into a game you don't enjoy. If you're not having fun, just jump ship. The experiences you've gleamed from whatever you played isn't going entirely to waste; there is ALWAYS some level of splashability from game to game, even if it's simple game theory. Don't be suckered into the sunk cost fallacy. tl;dr, I don't think they hate playing games for fun, I think they find the fun in games in less conventional ways.
@NomsyTFT
@NomsyTFT Ай бұрын
@@bkaneshiro14 While I do NOT disagree with you at all, I think I have to apologise for not expanding on my original point. What I was trying to get across was that there's more games than people out there, so why play TFT to compete only to compete when there are other games that are more rewarding or more enjoyable that you can also compete in. A lot of people try to play TFT because it's "easy" to get high elo and that it's "easy" to go pro. But I think with how the game is changing recently that notion doesn't exist anymore. I mean I get the mindset and I similarly feel the same way about competing, and competition in general, but TFT to me is ALSO fun(but there's a limit) and there are more times when I actually prefer playing TFT over League, over pretty much any other game I play, than not. Hence why I still play it, and make content out of it. I just would hate to see people not enjoying their lives, my intention was to try and him people a different perspective to open up some love of living again, because fuck me, that's in short supply these days

I love the good old Rito tradition of stealing Dota's ideas and making them better. Auto Battler was a Warcraft III mod before they made the official Dota version, much like Moba before them. And you can argue wether Dota or LoL is better (honestly the popularity speaks for itself), but you can't argue the fact TFT after augments introduction is just better in everyway. The idea of not hamstringed by meta and doing the goofiest shit in a game built for casual audience is just perfect. And the replayability is just a cherry on top.
